The Ganner
I am a vast collector of all Star wars products especially books. Now when the occasion rises that I run out of money or am waiting for a new Star Wars book to come out(which I am currently waiting on the next LOTF novel) I find myself reading through certain passages of the star wars(or harry potter) books that I have already read. Recently I reread Traitor for the first time since I read the whole NJO series back in 06'. Let me tell I am even a bigger fan of that book now.

The reason I bring that up is beacause of one particular scene involing Ganner Ryhsode! He is one of the better characters in the whole NJO series because he is one of the few that change and grow. We meet him in the beginning and he is firmly in Kyp Durron's(who is also a well developed character) camp. Arrogant and quick to battle and always butting heads with the more patient and rational Luke Skywalker. One good example for Ganner I like is when him and Corran Horn go on a mission and Ganner ends up saving Corran after butting heads with him the whole time. Good example of a strong heart.

The climax and end for Ganner comes in Traitor though, but it is one hell of a way to go out. Battling his inner demons and insecurities he tries to do what is right. He wants to be a hero, but he tries keep his arrogance under control and be humble in his attempt to locate and save Jacen Solo. What happens is Ganner finally becoming the Jedi he is meant to be and he battles over 1,000 YV in order to give Jacen time to do what he needs to do and in doing so Ganner becomes 'The Ganner' cementing his name in the eternal history of the Jedi of old!

I couldnt agree with you more!!! Ganner is one of my Fav. char in all of str wars. Its just a same that they had to kill him off but that is one of the things that made him great. his and Anakins deaths are by far the most memerabel parts of the NJO and maybe in all of Star Wars. I my self just started rereading them not to long ago and am almost done with Balance Point. Great books and I cant wait for Revelation
