Luke and Dagobah
In episode five Luke claimes that there was something framilliar to him about Dagobah. He then said it feels like and was interrupted by Yoda. At first I thought maybe They would show it in the upcoming trillogy. The episode 3 came out and my question was yet to be unraveled. So I thought it might be a deleted scene and now the DVD has comeout and Yoda went alone on an escape pod> So Luke couldn't have been framilliar with Dagobah unless it was the planet's surface and if it was he would have mentioned it while flying over Dagobah. It just makes no sense.

i don't think he's wondering aloud about whether or not he's ever been to degobah. i think he feels something that has to do w/ the force. my guess is that he senses Yoda's presence but Yoda is trying not to be noticed right away for who he really is, thus the song and dance he does for luke. Yoda is trying to get an idea of who luke is and what he's about before luke realizes who he is.

It could be that when luke was born as a baby he heard Yoda say something about dagobah

If it was the force or the name he was framilliar with he wouldn't have said he was framilliar with the planet, but with the name of it or he would have said "there's something framilliar here

He does finidh his thought, It's like something out of a dream, it feel like, Like what, like we're being watched.
Okay, so that's not really like it felt like to Luke, but at least, he did complete his sentence. Like we're being watched.

yup - he says "like we are being watched"

but that doesnt really seem like what he was about to say. it seemed more like he was trying to pinpoint exactly what it was that it felt like, but couldnt. LOL - obviously leia has a better knack for seeing the past with the force, as she remembers images and feeling of their mother.

oh right - LOL - and after reading more closely, along with some of the other comments here (i always just assume everyone thinks this too) - its quite possible luke has "familiar" feelings about dagobah through the force. after all, luke is one of the twin children of the chosen one. most likely he is naturally gifted in the force.

many speculate that leia has a natural gift for visions of the past (as in the memory of her mother) and luke has visions of the future - both through the force. the force could have given luke feelings of dagobah at an earlier point, i would assume at an unconcious level since neither he nor leia knew that they had force abilities until later in their lives.

I don't know if I understand your question. But I think he knew about it because Yoda had been hidden in Dagobah for alot of time if that's what you mean..

most likely Luke and Leia are so intuned with the force, that Luke could feel Yoda's presence when Padme was giving birth to him and that is why he felt his presence again when he reached Dagobah. Remember, in Episode VI, Leia mentions to Luke she could remember her "real" mother being very sad even though Padme passed away after she was born.

i think that it's the fact that dagobah was a planet with a dark side aura on it. that is why yoda hid there so the emperor and vader wouldn't be able to find him.

perhaps luke does remember yoda from the day he was born, much like leia remembered her mother. the one thing they all have in common? the force. they can feel other force sensitives when they are near.

Maybe Luke senses Yoda's presence, since he was in his presence years ago on Polis Massa.

Perhaps, while Yoda uses the Force to 'check up' on Luke, visions of Dagobah or somehow put into Lukes head and his visions of Dagobah are like we have from a dream. Fuzzy and weird and you can't put your finger on exactly what this place is. I think that's why he seems to recognize Dagobah.

I'm not sure what he meant but I think it was the planet he remembers so Aadi_Rila is probly right. That does explain why he fealt it in a dream

Well, Yoda said something later about how through the Force you could see people and places long gone and far off (paraphrasing as best as I can). Perhaps Luke had dreams of Dagobah, much like his father's dreams of his mother's and wife's deaths. True, not the same thing, but I think there could be a connection. Like has been said before it was "like something out of a dream."

Aadi_Rila - That's the best answer I've heard yet. Anybody can easily say it's the Force, but you logicially backed it up with a further explanation.

I think Dagobah feels familar to him because he can sense the presence of Obi-Wan (of whom we find out he is there later on) without actually realising it.

My suggestion would be that Luke is familiar with the cave because he received that memory from Anakin. In the Clone Wars animated series, Qui-Gon brings Anakin to that same cave. I like to think that Anakin passed this on to Luke while Luke was is Padme's belly - here's my blog on that B-)

Well the clone wars are a bit off. Every adventure anakin and qui-gon had arew in episode 1, and it couldn't be obi-wan because he wasn't at all surprised when he saw obi-wan's spirirt
