Timothy Zahn
As the title says, this entry's all about Timothy Zahn, the famed author of The Thrawn Trilogy and many other novels.

Of all SW writers, Zahn is probably the most well-known of the many others out there. He has also contributed many characters to the EU, such as Mara Jade, Talon Karrde, Jacen and Jaina Solo, Gilad Pellaeon, Grand Admiral Thrawn and so many others we all know.

Zahn (As most of you know) wrote the bestselling Thrawn Trilogy, which many fans are still divided over if it's good or bad. Many (Like myself) see his works as the most engrossing Star Wars literature and the most well-written, while some think that his are terrible, having too many real-world references such as hot chocolate, door hinges and other things.

Now, I'm normally a big Zahn freak and a devoted fan of his trilogy, but there was one thing that shattered my faith in him as a superb author and that thing was two words: Survivor's Quest. IMO, that book is the most terrible Star Wars novel ever written, a pointless story that wrecks the tale of the Outbound Flight, a very Trekkish story and all-around bad.

I still like his earlier works, but I haven't read The Hand of Thrawn yet. I'm probably going to pass on Outbound Flight when it comes out, but I might change my mind.

I'm looking foward to his book that's coming out in 2007, hopefully he'll write a book for Legacy of the Force as another favorite author of mine, Karen Traviss, is writing three of them.

After all, it if weren't for Zahn, I wouldn't have my screename! ;)
