Hello one and all,
Ecabob here, ready to talk about my trip to Hoth (Canada).
My family and I have been here since Friday night, but with all the traffic and the three hour time change, it we didn't do much that night or on Saturday. However, yesterday we finally got to get out and have some fun. I
could just tell you what happened, but that's no fun, so I'm going to tell it as if it were Hoth during the Imperial landing. So, without further ado, let's get on with the story!
I'm glad we joined the Rebel Alliance; the Empire would have split the four of us up long ago. The Rebels, however, have more respect for families I presume, as they kept us all together. They even gave us a great room in Echo Base, with two queen sized bunks and a holo-screen which picked up all our favorite shows. Yup, this was the life. Suddenly, our holo-screen produced a picture of the General, who ordered us to come to the briefing room. We headed down there immediately, and we were briefed on the Imperial attack by Princess Leia.
While I was expecting ground combat, my family and the rest of our unit were assigned to snowspeeders (dogsleds). We hoped a lift on a cargo transporter to the hanger, and were given instructions on how to properly use the speeders, while the first group went ahead. After careful instruction, my mother and I climbed in a snowspeeder while my father and my brother got in another one. It was time to fight! It was not long until we were cleared for takeoff, and then we were off. In the distance, I could see several snowspeeders tangling up an AT-AT, and it was not long until we were able to do the same. Unfortunately, it took us a couple tries too many to tangle up the walker, which resulted in us crashing into the snow. We quickly got out of our ship, only to see my dad and brother crash nearby. We hurried over to them, and helped them out of the vehicle.
We ran over to a nearby outpost and were given a bite to eat and orders to protect the Shield Generator (snow tubing park). We got two Taun Tauns (the gondola) to help us get to the Shield Generator. About half way to the Generator, our Taun Taun's froze and we had to set out on foot. On our own, it was not long until we had a shoot-out (snowball fight) with a squad of Snowtroopers (my mom and dad). After we took down the troopers, we had to cross a dangerous field of Imperial speeder bikes (skiers) before we could reach the Shield Generator. We managed to finally reach to Generator and fight off the Imps for a little while (snowtube), only to see the Generator explode before our very eyes. It was at this point that we were ordered to retreat to the transports. After a long, Taun Taun less hike through the snow, we managed to get on our transport and blast away, hopefully to somewhere a little warmer.
That's my trip so far, I hope you enjoyed my unorthodox method of story telling. We are still in Canada today, but tomorrow we'll be heading out to the next leg of our journey...
