Darth Vader. Scourge of the Jedi. Bringer of death and destruction to the light side of the force. Palpatine's puppet. Dooku's successor. All around, baddest guy in the galaxy from 19 B.B.Y to 6 A.B.Y.

Who wouldn't want to kill him?

Apparently no one. Even Palpatine, his Sith master is currently hiring former enemy Ferus Olin to kill his most "beloved" apprentice. Wait! Palpatine wants to kill Vader, you say, 21? Yes, unfortunetely he does along with the whole galaxy!

Darth Vader is the most hated machine in the universe. Everyone wants to kill him, by why haven't they? Is Vader too powerful? In his suit and his limited Force abilities, no. Do they not have the guts? No, I don't think so.Are others in their path to killing the Sith Lord? Yes, but that's not the reason he's not dead yet.

They can't because without Vader there would be a great period of instability in the galaxy.

If someone killed Darth Vader, the Emperor and many of his special agents would hunt the galaxy to find someone who matched Vader's power even a little. You have to remember that Vader is the only being in the galaxy who was formed by midichorians. That obviously means that the Force swells through him like no Jedi before. even as a Sith, those midichlorians are still in him. But they're trapped by Vader's suit. My point is, the Emperor knows that if he kills Vader, he'd have to fidn someone more powerful. Otherwise, he is vulnerable and isn't as invincible as he was when Vader was under his tutelage. The galaxy would be torn apart by Palpatine's Empire in an attempt to find this rare being.

So in a way, Vader's being spared. Anyone who intends to kill Vader knows this. But they won't go through with it because they can't not because they won't.
