WARNING! MUCH SPOILAGE!!! READ AT YOUR OWN RISK!!!
Okay, well first things first: JACEN IS DEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAD!!!!!!!! YIIIIPEEEEEEEE!!!! *dances for joy*

Well, now that's that out of the way, I guess you people will be wanting an actual book review. Ahem: The incredible series
Legacy of the Force, as anyone who has read it knows, has been one heck of a ride. It kicked off with
Betrayal, where we saw Jacen Solo's fall to the Dark Side, and reached its apex in
Sacrifice with the death of Mara Jade. Now it is wrapped up beautifully, (albeit with a few loose ends,) by Troy Denning in
Invincible. The book mainly focuses on Jaina Solo and her quest to hunt down her brother Jacen, now known as Darth Caedus, in order to fulfill her title as Sword of the Jedi and to bring some measure of peace to a continually turbulent galaxy. Here's what I thought of it, and also where I stop sounding like a professional book critic person and list all the thing I personally did or didn't like:
The Good:
-JACEN IS DEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAA...sorry. Anyways, Darth Caedus, evilest person in the galaxy and my least favorite Star Wars character
EVER will trouble my life no more! Needless to say, I am a VERY happy person.
-The jokes at the beginning of each chapter were...well, they were terrible, but they accomplished what they were supposed to: Make you realized what's been lost. The joke for the chapter right after Jacen dies is: "What's the difference between a Jedi Knight and a Jedi Master? Ask me in twenty years!" I can't think of the last time I read something that hit me the way that joke did. It fit so perfectly with the story, and reading it at 1:00 am, the irony almost brought me to tears.
-I think I'm love with Ben Skywalker. He's been an amazing character throughout this entire series. He's fun and interesting to read about, and he's such a good Jedi, unlike
some people...well, we'll get to that later. Anyways, by the end of this book, Ben had risen to the position of my all time favorite NJO-era character ever, aside from Zekk, of course.

-Speaking of Zekk, he was in this book!

That alone is enough to make me love it, but I should probably give specifics. The main thing is that he's over Jaina! Jaina's not good enough for him, and if she
still can't sort out her issues, at least Zekk doesn't have to suffer for it anymore. Not to mention, he's got a potential girlfriend!

Taryn and Zekk would be great for each other! There's just one problem...
The Bad:
-ZEKK IS GOOOOOOOOOONE!!!!!!!!

AAAAAAAAAAAAHHH!

THEY'VE GOTTA FIND HIM!!!

HE CAN'T BE DEAD! HE'S TOO HOT TO DIEEEEEEE!
NOOOO! Translation: Zekk is now MIA. While flying as Jaina's wing mate, Zekk's StealthX gets blown up, and even though Jaina didn't feel him die, she can't feel him in the Force either. He could have gone EV and could just be unconscious, but even if he is, he's floating around in the Transitory Mists. Finding him is
not going to be easy. In protest, my good pal "Sars" and I have decided to start the Resurrect Zekk Coalition, (catchy, ain't it?) on
DeviantArt. We don't know where we're going to go with it exactly, but it's probably gonna end up being a sort of Zekk fan club, because he's just that awesome. We love you Zekk! Come back to us safe and sound!

-Caedus's death. Yes, that was just listed under the good things in this book, and while it was definitely a good thing, it wasn't as good as it could have been. It was a ridiculously short lightsaber battle, Jaina didn't really use any of the things she learned from Boba, making
Revelation totally pointless, and I just didn't like how he died. I wanted him to have just a few seconds before he died where he realized just how badly he had failed, and that he was wrong. I wanted him to die in total defeat and I wanted him to
know it. I know that's just the result of how much I hated him, but I still think it could have been more...meaningful.
-Jaina. No offense to Jaina, but she's been going on and on for the past two and a half books about how she has to take down Jacen, and she's the Sword of the Jedi, and no one else can do it, and it's such a burden. Thanks. We got that the first time. It got really old really fast.
-Loose ends. There were a lot of things that were basically left to the imagination, for instance, the fate of Zekk, *taps foot and glares at Troy Denning,* and what exactly happened to the Galactic Alliance, the Imperial Remnant, and all the different governments and factions that got caught up in this war. Did they work out their differences and learn to live happily ever after? I doubt it. So what did happen? I really hope
Millennium Falcon clarifies some things. (Such as what's become of Zekk!)
-Luke. *everyone gasps and faints* I did not like Luke at all in this book. He didn't do hardly anything, and when he did, he didn't seem like himself. It's hard to explain, but he seemed more distant, almost (dare I say it?) sinister.
The Ugly:
-Tahiri. I won't even say anything about the part where she's trying to get the coordinates of the Jedi Base from Ben. *Shudders* Also, call me unfair, but I was so mad when she got redeemed!

She killed Pellaeon and Shevu, and ...did some other things

...and she's basically getting away with it! Arg!
-This is going to sound really random, but there where so many
needles in this book! Eeeeeek! *Convulses* The Moffs kept needing blood samples from random people for their stupid nanovirus, and Mirta had to have an enormous injection, and Jacen
fell in a box of medical syringes!

(I nearly fainted!) This really has nothing to do with how I liked the book. I would have liked it with or without long pointy objects, but I just felt the need to point that out, because it definitely fits under the category of "Ugly."
Overall, this wasn't my favorite of LotF, I still really love
Inferno and
Revelation, but it was towards the top of my list. This is the fourth time I've cried while reading a Star Wars book, and the first time a book has ever made me cry so hard I had to put it down and stop reading it for a bit, and not just because I was upset about Zekk. The entire last four chapters of the book were so emotional for me!

I finished it at 2:00 am on Tuesday, (technically Wednesday,) just 7 hours after I got it, it was that amazing. It didn't quite meet my expectations, but it came pretty darn close.
And now we all have to wait till December for
Millennium Falcon! *shakes fist at whoever is in charge of release dates*
