I'll Be in My Bunk...
As I have said before, I am "in exile" since the theater program has been put on hiatus. Luckily, my freind in the theater hooked me up with a job. His aunt and uncle run a "summer camp" of sorts up in the mountainous area of the region. It's a beatiful place. Hence the picture of Endor to the right. It almost looks exactly like it! Various groups come and stay there. Many of them are church related groups. They hold conferences there. Organised religion isn't exactly my cup of tea (I'm agnostic), but lots of other groups come up there too, like a Native American (politically correct phrasing) group and even a New Age-ish hippy group. (Not exactly my cup of tea either...). But hey! It beats the summer heat of my town, my freind is working with me, and there is lots of stuff to do in the off-times. I will be kind of living there for a while. In fact next Friday I will be off to stay there 9 days. And it won't be the only time. So don't expect blogs from me every week!

That is where the "I'll be in my bunk" part comes from. Well, part of it.;) I'll be staying in either the rustic Staff Cabins or the more cleaner dormitories. The camp has lots of more modern stuff too like showers and a cafeteria. There is even motel-like rooms where we can watch movies and TV! Of course, this is for us staff, but still, visitors still have a choice of how much, and if, they want to "rough it."

Aaaaaaannnnndddd...

The other meaning of "I'll be in my bunk." Actually there is three meanings. Here is the second: My freind is a very goofy dude. For a modern American young man, he is very open about things when it comes to relationships with the female types. It goes against the whole "macho" stereotype of just staying quiet, saying everything is okay, and only talking about girls with sayings such as "She's hot", "I'll do her." "Yo, check out the rack on that one!" etc. No, he is more enlightened. Sometimes (actually, a lot of the time) he will talk about problems with his girlfriend. At first this was strange to me, as this is still considered by many more **ahem** conservative males to be "un-manly" or even "girly." But I find it quite refreshing. I admit am the same way, or at least, want to be. But it is hard because it seems to me that most of my friends are still in that high-school phase of relations with the opposite sex. You know what I'm talking about. It's all over the entertainment media.;)

With that being said, he is definitely not overly-sensitive, "effeminate", or even "Emo." (Don't know what that is? Look it up on Google. Or, look it up on YTMND.com. They have lots of mean spirited jokes about it! Or finally, just ask a depressed teenager who hangs out at your local Hot Topic store!:p ) No, he can be the "normal guy", obsessed with sex and all that, but with his own unique twist on it. A lot of the time it is just pure joking and he is not being serious. Lately though, he is trying to get me "hooked-up" with this girl he knows. Since she will be working at the camp, my freind set up a car-pooling deal that I will drive her up there. He made this deal with her without my knowledge. He just called me and said "Hey! You will be doing this and that, blah blah blah. You should get to know her blah blah blah." Now this doesn't mean sex. I am actually more conservative when it comes to relationships. I feel it is immoral to "sleep around" or do that type of thing with some random girl I just met. And from what I hear she is the same way. That's good. I actually would like to have a relationship with a girl, a proper one where we really would get to know and appreciate each other. Not just some empty one night stand thing or some stupid high-school puppy love thing. A serious mature relationship. But I haven't even met this girl yet, and nothing will probably happen. I am only talking about this as excuse to talk about

FIREFLY!!!!!!:D

See? There will be this girl. I'll see her at work and say-"I'll be in my bunk.":^O This whole blog is a joke! (kind of)

I haven't even seen Firefly yet. I know the whole "Bunk" joke though.

I'll buy it today! (Hopefully Best Buy still has it) Why the heck not?

I like spaceships.

I like Western themes.

I like Zombies!!! And they are in space! Are you taking notes, George A. Romero?

I like acoustic gee-tar music!

So why not mix them all up?

And dammit, I am just too darn curious! It is all your fault PLB! You are all like the bad friends who give you pot and say "Hey man, this is some good stuff! Try it! Everyone does it!":p

I was actually planning to check this series out for quite some time. But I didn't have money. But now I do. I am not planning on spending too much this summer because I believe in fiscal conservatism, and was going to save a bit before I bought it, but what the hell? It's Serenity Day!
========================================================================

So I'll be in my bunk. Watching Firefly of course*. Maybe even at the camp.

*That's all that I'll be doing in the bunk. Get your mind out of the gutter!
