And now the end is near, and so we face the final curtain...
See, I said I can be melodramatic... But yes, the time is nearly upon us. 28 year of hopes, dreams, the highs and the lows of Star Wars fandom will culminate for many on Thursday morning.

Be that at a midnight screening, an early morning matinee or the evening after a long day at work. Hundreds of thousands of Star Wars fans, many like myself who can remember the excitement of seeing A New Hope before it became known as Episode IV will sit down with friends, family or loved ones to watch the final installment of a series that may or may not have shape certain aspects of both the childhood and their adult life.

For me? Well I'll be at the Showcase Cinema in Bluewater, Kent, minus any headgear or hooded top :D with my wife. The kids will be at school, I've will have been working my self ragged to buffer up 4 or 5 hours from work to eat popcorn and be transported to a Galaxy Far, Far Away for just one last time.

It's a strange feeling, as I said before. Star Wars shaped a lot of my childhood. It introduced me to friends I would never have met otherwise, and it still does. :) In the last 6 years it was also a big part of my life, with 2 websites, many new online friends and two children who, to my delight, have found a love of Star Wars just as I did when I was their age.

This time on Thursday I'll be in the car, driving to the theatre and I can't wait.

Thanks George, it's been a really great ride!

Anyone can say they love Star Wars, but that doesn't mean they are a true Star Wars fan. Only the people who create websites, post comments on the internet, or even write fanfic. People like us, are the real fans. The ones who can reminsce about the good ol' days when Star Wars was new and fresh.
We are the fan's. We are the ones who make it possible for George to continue his Star Wars, and to further the imagination.
Star Wars will never die, as long as it remains in our heart, and we remember it,it will live on in a Long time ago in a galaxy far, far away...
