DJ Mauls Ultimate Star Wars Toy Room Tour Part 35!
Toy Tour 35

What? Another toy tour so soon after my C4 one?

Did you think I stopped buying stuff AFTER C4?

I'm going to start with an item that I got while at C4 but not AT C4...let me explain:

My pal Nob01 found the Darth Maul FX Sabers at his local Borders for HALF PRICE and contacted me to see if I wanted in on the deal.

So I had him grab a set and picked them up from him when we met up at C4!

Of course, shipping them home cost me a few bucks but I still made out pretty well on the deal in the end.

Anyway, I am VERY happy with them, the detail on the hilts looks amazing and of course they look killer when lit up!

The most fun part however is that my daughter and I have been having a total BLAST dueling with them in the back yard!

I had a package waiting for me on the day I got home from C4; this excellent Art FX Darth Maul Model Kit from Kotobukiya; my first from them and I must say I am very pleased with it.

It was fun and easy to assemble and of course displays very well on this newly organized Darth Maul tribute shelf.

Another new item just added to that shelf is this Gentle Giant Darth Maul Bust that I found at my local comics shop at a decent price. This is my second GG bust and I must say I am falling for these and may add more in the near future as funds allow.

I seem to be on a Darth Maul collecting kick lately as I just picked up yet ANOTHER Darth Maul item just this week, at toy dealer I found while visiting the shore.

From the "Power Of The Jedi" line from the late 90's / early 2000 comes this interesting Darth Maul: Sith Apprentice fig depicting Maul in what is described on the back as a "special padding" that he wore for "training as a Sith."

I am assuming the picture on the package was taken from some EU source, but I have never seen this figure before and was intrigued.

Along with that one I also purchased this 2003 TRU Exclusive Silver Clone Trooper that seems to be some sort of promotional item as the back states "For Promotional Use Only, Not for Retail Sale."

I am unaware of the complete history of this fig at the moment but am again intrigued for sure and will do some research.

In the NEW Figs Department, I found my Concept Chewbacca Figure easily enough a few weeks ago, and also added several new Troopers to the Clone Army from the new waves, which include a Ep.II AOTC Clone, also a Ep.III ROTS version and of course their final evolved Ep.IV ANH Stormtrooper version.

I have not yet opened these; I like the idea of possibly keeping them MIB with the 30th Anniversary packaging and displaying them together, I like the evolution of it ya know?

The "Ultimate Galactic Hunt" is on again for the Star Wars Saga figs; this time to send away for a special Coin Book. I have decided I am NOT going to buy all five figs needed this time around and am passing on the Coin Offer, but I did wind up picking up TWO of them simply because I thought they were cool figs:

The Snowtrooper and the IG-88.

The newest wave of Titanium vehicles finally hit the pegs this month and of course being the completist I am with this line I grabbed them:

The Clone Turbo Tank (White Snow variation)

The Arc Fighter (Olive Green Markings variation)

The B-Wing Fighter (Orange Markings variation)

The V-Wing ... (EU vehicle if not mistaken)

Republic Cruiser (all grey variation)

And the Plo Kloon Ep.II Jedi Fighter w/Hyperspace Docking Ring

Something old and something new in the book section of the toy room; just added the new "Legacy of The Force" book, Sacrifice to my reading list (I haven't finished it yet so NO SPOILERS PLEASE!) and found a GREAT deal on eBay (thanks to my buddy Megatrends!) on this vintage Star Wars paperback novel!

While it's "only" a 20th edition dated 1978 (as opposed to the first edition dated 1976) it's almost MINT in condition and is a great companion to my original childhood copy which is basically falling apart.

One last item for this tour and a unique one it is.

My fellow collector buddy "Slow" contacted me not too long ago about this Ep. I Uncut Store Display Sign that he had picked up somewhere and decided he had no room for.

He asked me if I was interested and me being the obsessive / compulsive collector that I am said SURE!

We bargained a deal for it and despite the monster size of this thing I am sure I can find a way to display it properly...probably on the ceiling somehow.

Slow was kind and cool enough to through in a little bonus in the form of some great DVD's featuring various SW related documentaries and TV shows etc. You may also note in that picture the great sketches he added to his envelopes; I am keeping them as well...great job there Slow, and thanks again bud!

(PS: If you are NOT watching Slow's video tour blogs of HIS collection, you SHOULD be!)

Well, that's it. I am FINALLY caught up in the toy tours and can now concentrate on finishing my last few C4 recap blogs, which I WILL get done soon I promise.

By then I'm sure I will be ready for yet another toy tour, LOL...see you then!
