As a collector, sometimes the fun of the hobby isn't just WHAT stuff you get but WHERE you get it from, HOW and from WHOM.
As I have mentioned many times here in my blog I am part of an online collectors group called
Geeks Helping Geeks.
Since its inception I have managed to get some of the coolest items ever from some of the coolest people on the planet.
Let's start with an item I never actually thought I would see: A
Darth Maul Titanium Figure!
Rumor had it this item was supposed to be released here in the States but the line was cancelled due to lack of sales and it never appeared here. So I figured I would never ever find one IF They in fact even made it to shelves.
So imagine my surprise when my buddy
Nob01 sent me a message during his excursion to Canada telling me he found one for me!!!
You can tell its Canadian because it has
French writing on the back, not that it mattered much because I have since opened and tossed the packaging anyway.
These next items come from far off Japan and from another fellow blogger buddy
Green And White Jedi!
He is currently over in Japan and contacted me awhile back from there asking if I would be interested in purchasing a few of these amazingly cool, Japanese exclusive
Pepsi Bottle Caps!
I have seen these on eBay sold in large sets for even larger amounts of money but wasn't interested in a complete set of them, I just wanted a few, and with G&WJ's help I managed to score the three I wanted most at a VERY reasonable price indeed! And since they were so small it didn't even cost a lot to ship!
These next few items come from closer to home but that doesn't make them any less special.
From the great state of Wisconsin; from the Patron Saint herself
Jedi Melinda Wolf comes one of the oddest, weirdest items I have seen in a long time...a LONG time...
"The Dark Mole" comes from a line of plush stuffed toys called "Farce Wars: The Fantom Meanies" and is a limited edition numbered 75 of 25,000.
I have no idea who made these, or even if they are Lucasfilm Officially licensed toys but Melinda found him somewhere, thought of me, and sent him to me as a GIFT! Bless her generous heart!
From sunny California, another gift from my lovely, sweet friend
Michelle 1968. She received two of these cool
Darth Vader ceramic goblets from a friend and decided to send me the extra one!
As you can see in the back ground, it's from the same set of goblets as the Chewbacca one I already had so it was nice to have the Vader finally to go with it!
Also from Cali, this next item comes from my buddy
Darth T-Bone who sold me a second
Gold Titanium Darth Vader TIE Fighter from Comic Con 2005 so that I could have an opened one to display on my shelf.
As is the case with so many of my generous friends he also included a few neat
freebie items in my package as a surprise!
Lastly, from the home of the blues, Illinois comes an item that I have been looking for high and low around here to no avail.
I had all but given up hope of EVER finding a
McQuarrie Concept Han Solo Figure to complete the line, but thanks to the efforts of my friend
Jedi Pug1 I now have a COMPLETE collection!
Thank you to ALL my wonderful friends here for your amazing additions to my ever growing collection!
Speaking of the Ralph McQuarrie Concept Figures line, I leave you now with a
New Video Clip!
Once I had finally completed the line I had to come up with how I wanted to display them. The video is my final (for now) solution to that. Enjoy!
Thanks again as always for tagging along, I still have LOTS of stuff to cover so see you all again very soon I hope.
(PS: I put up the pic of Stormy O'Trooper there for a belated Happy St. Patricks Day to all! )
