DJ Mauls Ultimate Star Wars Toy Room Tour Part 55
So I recently went vintage toy shopping again at my local comic book/collectibles store...if you recall, I scored quite a few great items from there not too long ago that I featured in Chapter 17 of the tour.

I knew he still had a BUNCH of vintage stuff floating around from that collection, so I took my time and browsed; he has stuff EVERYWHERE so you have to really look around....and while as always there was TONS of stuff, a lot of it quite expensive, these were the cool items I found that were also GREAT bargains!

First up, this cool Millennium Falcon Sun Catcher Kit from Empire Strikes Back, vintage 1980! It was never opened and all the little colored rock packages are sealed tight.

the front part of the card is shrink wrap sealed in plastic, the back is open cardboard with the instructions printed on it.

Not quiet MINT in box, but certainly a unique find, and a steal at just 4 bucks!

Next I found these vintage 1980 Topps Collectors Card storage boxes; these were mail away items one would send for to store their collection of trading cards in.

All four boxes are the same design, the numbers on them were written by the previous owner and they all have various forms of wear & tear, but again a very unique, interesting item and a real bargain at a dollar each!

Next to them I spotted a small vintage trading cards that with some help from fellow blogger Hansgirl are now identified as the Wonder Bread card collection, dated 1977...the exception are the two blue ones on the top which are 1983 ROTJ cards from Kelloggs. I picked these up for 3 bucks.

I still need to look these next items up to find out exactly what they are; they are little metal statutes, very small, along the same size as those Unleashed Battlepack figs if I had to compare, and there were 8 total in the bag they came in, all dated 1982 with an official LFL logo. I don't know if this is a complete set of whatever these are, what they came from or who made them. But I thought them cool enough to pay 10 bucks for...the most expensive item I bought that day LOL.

If anyone out there can identify what they are I would greatly appreciate that.

What else? ah yes, this cute, if beat up and dirty Ewok bank from 1983...its scratched up and missing the plug on the bottom, but for 2 bucks I couldn't resist.

These vintage activity books were also worn and used, but for 2 bucks each, why not grab them?

I also found something I think would be pretty RARE: a ROTJ school folder from 1983, intact and in pretty darn good shape...I'll buy THAT for a dollar, LOL.

As always they had plenty of vintage action figures and I usually grab at least one whenever I'm there, this time I grabbed two: a Biker Scout & Stormtrooper.

The Stormtrooper is now riding the vintage Dewback I picked up last time!

One last item: Just on my way up to the register, I saw this box sitting on the countertop, with no price tag.

It's a Limited Edition Millennium Falcon Collectible Watch from Fantasma, dated 1993. It's not as old as the rest of the stuff I bought but I figured OK, I will take it up and ask what he wants when I ring up everything else.

He looked at it for a few minutes, and I figured he was gonna hit me hard....I would have gone 10, MAYBE 20 bucks on it, tops....I was already spending enough money on the other stuff.

When he quoted me "two bucks" I had to stop myself from showing any real excitement and just did a slow nod..."yeah, ok."

TWO BUCKS.

So when I got it home, I opened it up to take a closer look, and you tell me....think I got a pretty good deal on that? I sure do!

It was obviously already opened when I bought it, so I don't mind at all opening it and checking out the watch itself, but the box itself displays nicely so I found a home for it on my Falcon shelf where it now resides.

Needless to say kiddies, I am one giddy Geek! Yahoooooo!

I will be heading back there again very soon to scout out what other treasures he may have!

Just for the heck of it, I'm gonna include these next items in this blog as well; I didn't score them at the comic shop but on eBay.

These are a set of FAO Schwarz "Star Wars Cantina" Cups & Toppers from Las Vegas, dated 1997.

Again I don't know a LOT of detail on them; they have a Pepsi logo on the cup part so I would assume they were some type of promotional item, perhaps sold at a concession stand or something. I got these for an amazing deal and just think they are yet another fun, unique item to add to the collection!

Still more tours to come in the near future and I promise the video clips will be returning soon, so come back again!

Thanks as always for tagging along. See ya next time!

I can't believe all the cool stuff you scored that day. The watch is awesome and what a deal. That guy has no haggling skills at all. LOL Lucky for you!

Wonder Bread cards? *faints* Two of my favorite things in 77. Wonder Bread and Star Wars. Gimme a PB&J and some SW toys and I was a happy girl.

Love that little Ewok bank. Too cute!

Wow -- that Falcon watch is nifty... and what a deal! I remember wanting one when it came out, but alas, had not enough funds to snag one.

So if you see another... ;)

Hmmm didn't know you made a bloggy. Sorry it took so long my friend for me to get here.

I love that watch seriously and that would have been THE collectible i would have gotten there.

Nice stuff as always .... oh and thank for hooking me up with the Cup Toppers. Artoo looks cigarette smoke stained on the soft white rubber parts but not on the rest of it. Does your have that too and it doesn't show i the pics or are they just "old" and aged looking?

I'm not complaining by any means mind you.

Maul, have to say I hate you.......

You get great stuff for nothing :p
I have such a limited collection that grows slowly, because of the lack of availability and funds.
