Darth Maul: Sith Apprentice to Lord Sidious, weapon supreme and feller of Qui Gon Jinn.

When he burst into action on the screen back in Episode I fans were thrilled; never had we seen such fighting action before in a Star Wars film, and so many of us were sadly disappointed to see him die and hoped he would somehow return in the next films, which of course he never did.

But what if Darth Maul had appeared in OTHER films? What if he had been cast in a love story, or perhaps the straight man in a buddy picture?

What if Darth Maul starred in some of the Greatest Motion Pictures Of All Time?

My fellow geeks, let us imagine now the Cinematic Wonders of ...Darth Maul: MOVIE STAR!

Any actor worth his chops tries to expand his roles to find all kinds of challenges. Can you picture Darth Maul as the Romantic Lead? He would have made an excellent Rhett Butler, would he not?

"At last, we shall reveal that we frankly do not give a damn."

Or how about Maul playing Don Corleone in The Godfather? MUCH scarier than Marlon Brando with cotton in his cheeks don't'cha think?

"At last, we shall make an offer they cannot refuse!"

And of course, he would have made an EXCELLENT Terminator in place of Arnold.

"At last, we shall reveal that I will be BACK."

(Ok, that's the last time I do that joke, I promise.)

Or how about.... "Maul...DARTH Maul...." ...suave, debonair, and likes his blue milk shaken, not stirred.

Think of how much more scary and exciting ET would have been if it had featured Darth Maul hunting Elliott and his little friend down instead of simple government agents...

"This is my apprentice, Darth Maul. He shall find your lost bug eyed alien."

I think Maul would have made an excellent Blues Brother too...

"At last, we shall get the band back toget..." oh wait, I promised NOT to do that joke again...ok, how about "I'm on a mission from Sideous..."

How about something more serious...say....Shakespeare?

"Alas poor Maul, I knew him well..."

What if they started hiding Darth Maul in films, you know, like "Easter Eggs?"

What if variations on him or his image started popping up in films like...

Fast Times At Ridgemont High,

Raiders Of The Lost Ark

or even... Jaws???

Don't you think Darth Maul would be great in advertisements?

And lastly....if Darth Maul was to do a TV sitcom, I think this just might be the perfect show ...

Yes, we do indeed miss our tattooed Goth friend, but we can keep his memory alive by imagining him as part of our cherished pop movie culture!
