DJ Mauls Ultimate Star Wars Toy Room Tour Part 62!
Well the wait is finally OVER and the newest waves of Star Wars toys hit the shelves a few weeks ago in celebration of the upcoming Clone Wars movie, and of course I've been right in the thick of it, so let's explore all the NEW toys I've picked up so far, shall we?

Toys R Us had their Midnight Madness sale to kick the whole thing off with a bang, and I did manage to get there even though I was working a wedding that evening.

I arrived just a few minutes after midnight to find the doors already open and the fans picking the shelves clean already BUT I did manage to do rather well all things considered, picking up MOST of the figures I wanted in both the new Clone Wars Line and the latest in the Legacy Line too.

I did manage to score a few of the "First Day" stickered figs but wasn't concerned about getting an entire set of them since I open most of my figures anyway. I have the First Day ones sealed away in star cases as a souvenir of the day, the rest are all already opened.

I'm sure most of you have noticed the "Droid Builders" parts added to the Legacy wave and I managed to score enough in that set to complete a new astromech droid.

The parts are interchangeable, so if you bought mismatched droid parts you can combine them and create your own unique astromech, so that's pretty cool.

There was SO much to choose from besides figs, but I had to pick and choose what I wanted otherwise I'd go broke LOL, but I did grab several other items as well, including the Imperial Pilot Evolutions set, the Hoth Recon Patrol Battlepack (mainly for the Probe droid, what a beauty!) and only two new Titanium's as the rest are all repaints of ones I already have.

That was all I bought at the Midnight Sale, and I was rather upset but not really SURPRISED to find out at checkout that the FREE Holographic Grievous figure I was supposed to get was already out of stock there.

However, about a week later I returned and TRU still had the offer up: One free Holo- Grevious with the purchase of $30 or more in SW Toys.

So I decided to grab an item I had passed on at the Midnight Sale but was certainly interested in: the new Ultimate Lightsaber Kit! ...and yes, I finally got my FREE Grievous with it, yeay!

A quick review on this kit: While I think "1000's Of Combinations" is a bit of an exaggeration, it certainly does come with plenty of interchangeable parts to choose from including three different "crystals" that you can insert into the special slots inside the hilt to change not only the color, but the SOUNDS of the blade! And you can COMBINE the crystals for various color effects including purple and orange along with your standard red, green and blue.

Here is the completed saber I assembled; I recommend keeping the box intact to store the rest of your parts not being used.

TRU isn't the ONLY place I've been shopping at for new stuff of course; I also just recently found the Wal-Mart Exclusive 501st. Clone Trooper which I purchased two of; one to open, one MIB, and while there grabbed a few other items including this cute little Galactic Heroes Slave Leia & R2 which I don't normally buy but I really just thought this one was super cute, and also these neato Stackable Key chains which I have since opened and, well... stacked!

I also hit Target to find their Exclusive Commander Fox Figure which I also bought two of despite the fact that Target decided that by adding a "Special Star Case Package" to it they could charge TWICE the price!!! But what can I say; I'm a sucker for my clones.

I managed to wait an entire WEEK before I broke down and bought this next item...I am of course talking about the Big Millennium Falcon, or "BMF" as it's being affectionately called.

I won't go into a lot of details on this item but will instead refer you to my buddy Megatrends comprehensive review of this ship complete with TONS of pics....but I already hear several of you asking where the HECK I put this sucker in my toy room...well I managed to find the PERFECT spot for it simply by clearing some odd junk off the top of my filing cabinet and sitting her directly under my Millennium Falcon Shelf! ....goes absolutely perfect there and just fits!

Last but certainly not least....along with everything else, my Hasbro Mail Way Capt. Rex figures came in during all of this as well!

The figure itself is exactly the same as the one you can buy on the shelf with some differences in the weapons accessories but the true beauty of this mail away is the specially designed package that opens to a Mini-diorama scenethat I of course used to now display my opened Capt. Rex, Commander Fox, 501st Trooper and Clone Trooper figures all from the upcoming movie!

As usual, I'm still hunting a few items, like the Hoth Speederbike Set, but you know me, I find everything I want eventually!

Until the next time teen gang, MTFBWY!

Oh! I almost forgot...totally unrelated to this blog BUT I do have a new Toy Room Video for your viewing pleasure as well; basically it shows a few new shelves I've added to the room for display space!

Thanks, as always, for tagging along!
