Hey gang! I'm back from vacation and have a BUNCH of stuff to show you!
My family and I went to Disney World in Orlando last week and of course, while I was there, I hit the Star Tours ride at Hollywood Studios and did some major shopping at the gift shop.
I may write a separate blog about the vacation itself, but for now let's just take a look at all that Uncle Walt 's place has to offer a geek like me:
There were a lot of fun exclusive items to be had, and some of my favorites were these totally boss die cast
Disney Racers.
Very much like your standard Hot Wheels or Matchbox cars, these were some well detailed, unique looking items at a pretty reasonable price of just 5 bucks each:
Let's take a closer look:
Grievous, Boba Fett & C-3PO
R2-D2, Luke X-Wing Pilot, & Vader
Darth Maul, Stormtrooper, Imperial Guard & Tusken Raider
I also bought an extra
Darth Maul car and
Darth Vader car to keep sealed as I enjoyed the packaging as well but wanted to of course OPEN the set for better
display purposes.
Another fun exclusive is this cute
Muppets Star Wars Figures Set featuring some of Jim Henson's
most famous characters as some of George Lucas' most famous characters LOL.
There was also a neat set of more standard
Star Wars Collectible Figures available.
While these figures differ from your normal store bought figures in that they are not articulated at all, they still make for a
nicely detailed display.
Of course, it being Disney, they obviously had PLENTY of Disney/Star Wars related stuff, especially figures.
I must be honest, I am NOT a big Mickey Mouse guy, plus I simply could not afford to buy ALL of them, so I had to narrow down to some select choices of the ones I liked most.
I wound up choosing two of their action figures,
Donald Duck as Darth Maul and one that I frankly thought was just brilliant,
Stitch as Yoda!
They also had some really cute ceramic Bobble Heads to choose from and from that collection I chose
Mickey Mouse, X-Wing Pilot and
Minnie Mouse as Princess Leia.
There were several others but from them all I thought this was the most brilliant:
Yoda at Disney World.
And again, after some rearranging on the shelves I got a nice
display out of them all.
The Yoda image was also on several other items available at the store, including a
Tee shirt my daughter chose to get, and is accompanied by the
perfect quote on the other side of course.
It was also on one of their
collectible pins, and again, while I could not afford to get them ALL , I bought that one along with several others, including:
a few troopers, (one eating a Mickey Pop LOL)
A
Boba Fett and a Darth Maul pin
And the two coolest pins of them all,
The Imperial & Rebel Logo Pins!
I also grabbed this well detailed
Mickey / Indiana Jones pin in one of the other stores too.
Hm, what else? Oh yeah, I found a Star Wars
shot glass and put it next to a Mos Eisley shot glass I'd gotten at Star Tours several years ago.
While in the store I also had my daughter & I get our pictures taken and they turned us into
Star Wars characters ourselves!
It was actually rather CHILLY down there the week we went so it was the perfect excuse to buy this cozy
Darth Vader Hoodie, which also had a subtle
logo on the back.
Out of the MANY tee shirts to choose from I went with this one:
TK-421.
These next few items I didn't find at Star Tours but at the Lego Store in Downtown Disney, some cute Lego keychains, including
character ones and a few
vehicles as well.
Last but certainly not least:
While shopping I noticed a sign at the register that had a offer I couldn't refuse. With a $40 or more purchase, one could buy the
15" R2-D2 Interactive Astromech Droid for only $60...well over half off the usual price.
After much inner debate I decided I MUST own him, and after
opening him when I got home I'm glad I did!
I've been wanting this item for years now and I will work on a video to show you all exactly what he can do as soon as I get a chance, I promise.
I must say it was truly interesting getting all this stuff home LOL...I wound up having R2 as my carry on on the plane ride home LOL.
I also picked up a few items for some of my friends and I will be getting in touch with you guys about them shortly.
They had SO much other stuff there, I wish it wasn't so far away or I'd shop there more often LOL...
Ok, Ok, This has NOTHING to do with my Disney scores BUT I will leave you with my latest You Tube
video tour clip anyway...it's all about the metal baby!
Til' next time kids, May The Mouse be With You.....
