So I am sitting at work today - and I feel my artistic muse coming over me, and wanting to write some poetry - yes stooge I know I still have to finish my SW poetry saga (I need to watch Ep III again to prepare my mind for that task - last time watched I was sick and slept in and out of it) - Well I digress (you play sorry I play chess (ok another digression wonder if anyone knows who sings that lyric))

So here is my poem:

Ode To The New Year

Years Fade Into Memories,
Just Like A Forest Full Of Trees.

Weeks Blend Into Nothingness As They Fade Away,
They Just Never Seem To Want To Stay!

A Day's Light Rises and Falls To Darkness So Precisely,
Sometimes Leaving Behind A Sunset Nicely.

Hours In A Day Never Stop,
They Just Run From The Bottom To The Top.

Minutes Tick Away Going Tick And Tock,
Like An Aged Grandfather Clock.

Seconds Flash Away Faster Than Ever,
Thinking Themselves So Clever.

Another Year Has Started Recently,
And Already Is Fleeing Past Rather Quickly,
Or Perhaps It Is Just Me.

So I Took Time To Sit Back And Reflect On Last Year,
Every Smile, Every Frustration, Every Accomplishment, Every Tear,
And Amidst All The Swirling Feelings One Thing Became Clear.

That I Am Not In The Same Position I Was Last Year This Day,
No One Ever Is In The Game Of Life We Play,
I Am Not Where I Wish To Be Suffice To Say.

But, I Am Moving The Right Direction To Reach My Goal,
My Previous Empty Life Doesn't Have As Big A Hole,
Perhaps I Am On My Way To A Complete Soul.

What Do I Have That I Was Lacking Before?
On My Life Shall I Give A Short Tour?
Come With Me As I Open The Door?
Watch Your Step As There Are Still Holes In The Floor!

A Family That Shows Me What A Family Should Be,
A Puppy Dog That Speaks Wookiee,
A Cat That Purrs And Cuddles With Me.
Doctors That Listen And Take Good Care Of Me.

A Few Less Bills To Have To Try To Pay,
A Few Less Personal Demons To Try To Slay,
A Few Less Debts To Repay,
Peace Of Mind When My Head Down I Lay.

How Do You Find The Words To Thank Those Close To You?
How Do You Find The Patience When Frustration Takes Hold?

You Just Speak From Your Heart And The Truth Will Ring Through,
Take A Pause, Take A Breath, Take A Moment, Actions That Are Bold.

They Will Realize How You Feel With Each And Every Clue,
And If That Doesn't Work, Some Just Need To Be Told.

But Don't Forget What Shakespeare Has Said Too!
For Other Yourself You Should Not Totally Mold.

"To Thine Ownself Be True"
When I Remember This I Never Feel Left Out In The Cold.

I Want To Thank You Till This World Ends,
I Want To Love You As You All Love Me,

As Time Continues To Move With Each Breathe We Take,
More Time To Give Thanks I Will Make.

For All That I Have Gained Since Yesterday,
And All That I Will Have Today.

As Not All Steps Backwards Are Bad Each Day.
