Sometimes its best to step blindly back in and say stuff. I've been gone for a little while and have noticed new and old, and I remember, sometimes, why I like to hang out here.
I'm one of those guys who doesn't like to know too much about the movie before it comes out, so I try to stay away from that, too.
I do think, however, that this new cartoon is going to challenge me. It is the first SW movie that I'm going to take J2 to. And he loves the Clone Wars videos (as he calls them, "The Star Wars cartoons."). Not that I care too much, but is it EU or cannon? Is there a debate? Does anyone care?
Although we've often made fun of the acting and the writing, will it have the same impact as "live action"? Will I take it as seriously?
One thing I dislike about the EU (the books, especially) is the introspection. All the thoughts and wondering and considering. One of the things I love about the saga is that GL left the intentions, thoughts, desires, etc., things to be discerned. Kind of like Hemingway's "tip of the iceberg" style of writing. Part of it is the necessity of the medium of film, so perhaps I'm worried about nothing.
On the other hand, there are way too many films that answer way too much for the watcher. I hope the Clones don't do that.
