The Jedi Mind Trick Unites and Identifies Us All
Being a die hard Star Wars fan, it has come to my attention that not everyone loves Star Wars as much as I do. I have even been the subject of ridicule and jokes by people who think these movies are a waste of time. I am now careful about who I confess my love of Star Wars to.

When in a social situation, such as a bar, party, function etc., and there are people about that you do not know, try this: When in a group, and you are trying to get someone to see your point of view, or grab you a drink, wave your hand slowly towards them (AKA Jedi Mind Trick) as you ask them to do someting for you. Even weekend Star Wars fans will pick up on this movement as the Jedi Mind Trick and smile or laugh at your gesture.

This immediately identifies a potential friend, or someone that you have something in common with. Those who know nothing of Star Wars will not pick up on the gesture and be oblivious to the non-verbal communication that is taking place between you and your new found friends.

You must move quickly to exclude the Non-Star Wars people from your group before they start talking about sports or something that you don't care about. Ask your new friend if he liked the way Lucas animated Jabba in the original triliogy re-release, and most non-fans will become bored and leave the conversation immediately.

If that does not work, ask the non-fan why the Falcon's flux capacitor (from back 2 the future) broke down in Empire. When they come up with a totally wrong excuse, laugh them until they realize they dont belong. As a last resort, crowd them out or simply ask them to leave.

The Jedi Mind Trick unites and identifies us all.
