I have just finished reading Outbound Flight and for all of those out there that having been waiting for the King of Strategic Warfare and Master of the Sentient Pshyce to make his triumphant return, your long wait is over.

Thrawn, while it may be his past self, is sharper than we have ever seen him before and his tactical analysis and cool calculating mind lead him into and out of situations no man, or Chiss for that matter, should be able to survive.

Without giving away any spoilers I will say that all the pieces previously released about the Outbound Flight project are neatly woven together into an intricate web that entangles all the major characters of the Star Wars Universe, including the not yet known Vong, and our mysterious avion Jedi, Vergere.

One comment that will be a spoiler, aparently at this point in Star Wars history, both the Chiss and Palpatine knew of the Vong even at this point. Palpatine had foreseen the invasion that would come more than fifty years in the future. Hard to believe a half man/half droid could destroy a man with such insights into the workings of the Galaxy and those beyond.

To Timothy Zahn, amazing read and I can't wait until your eighth Star Wars book you just completed is ready for us, the fans, to read. May the Force forever be with you.
