In the light of the Unfying Force, a real Jedi Order on Earth would be more than just local security for the UN or EU parlaiment.

I have spent a couple of blogs on my thought concerning the creation of a real Jedi Order (links below). One particularly interesting commect related to the issue of how integrative such a real Jedi Order could be with regards to people from different religious backgrounds. I have some ideas on that which I'ld like to share with you here.

The Force is the core of any open-minded religion
Many religions and religious scholars disagree with one another about the nature of the personality of the deity they worship. On some issues the trenches are so deep that once they've dug in there's no getting out. At the same time there is a substantial part of the Earth's population for which the only truly relevant personality characteristic is the possibillity of communication with the presence they believe in. The beautiful aspect of the Force-concept is that it does away with many humanoid aspects and opens up a road of exploration through contemplation, meditation and action. As a result believe that any open-minded and tolerant Christian, Muslim, Jew, Budhist, Hindu or representative of any other more-or-less religious school of thought could participate in a Jedi Order without any neccesity of denying his er her own religious and intellectual roots. As knowledge of the Force comes through personal meditation, reflection and experience there is no need to be to restrictive. A real Jedi Order code could be short. The only prerequisite, next to having some sense of this force around us, would be a healthy critical attitude towards any authority on these matters. As I stated in an earlier blog on this subject: such an order would start out as an order of Padawans.

Less deliberating and more action
Would this real order be more than just local security. The answer is a definite YES. Just imagine the potential of such a gathering of people with such diverse backgrounds. Only the mere fact that they would get together will have profound implications in the long run. Sometimes minor causes can have major consequences. The way of the Jedi is not so much to create a spectacle and revolutionary changes, but to shift the balance of events at the right time, the right plave and for the right people. It is not that no one has thought about the Jedi ideals before, the only problem is that many are satisfied just contemplating and deliberating them. Not the Jedi. Ofcourse we also see the opposite in our world: to much action and to little reflection. So the issue is to find the right balance. But you cannot find balance when you never even dare to stretch out. Stasis is not the same thing as balance.

Possibly the World needs a real Jedi Order, ... more than they know.
