The Quest to 100: The Truce at Bakura
Published on November 1, 1993, The Truce at Bakura is just over 15 years old. I had seen it on Wookieepedia before but I was never really interested. As a matter of fact, I was never really interested in anything post-ROTJ until I had read the Thrawn Trilogy. Here's a little story about my past in the post-ROTJ books.

I started adventuring into the adult novels around the time that the Clone War novels were coming out, such as Shatterpoint, and The Cestus Deception. So I was never really interested, and I never had the time to read them because the Clone War novels were my first priority.

Back in 7th grade my friend Tim came to school with a book he got from the library called The Heir to the Empire. I told him it looked interesting and said I'd read it if I ever found time. Well, 3 years later when I was a sophomore in High School (last year) I found out that my English teacher Miss Evans had read the Thrawn Trilogy and loved them. That kinda sent me for a trip I was like, "Whoa whoa wait, my English teacher reads Star Wars? Weird...but cool"

Since the Thrawn Trilogy, I have read the first 4 of 9 X-Wing books, Survivor's Quest, and The Truce at Bakura. That's not a lot and there are so many more out there but that will come in time.

So now, after all that here's my short and sweet review of The Truce at Bakura:

It was good.

Short enough for ya? Want me to expand? Okay:

I thought that this book was really good. I though it was interesting how the Imperials and the Rebels worked together to fight off the Ssi-ruu. Also I found it interesting that the Ssi-ruu used humans' life energy to power their little battle droid ships. The reaction by people who had read it when they found out I was reading it was generally, "Oh that's a good one. It's an old one but its good." So hey, if you are wondering what book to read next, give it a shot.

So far the totals are...

Books Read: 88
Books Owned: 98

Okay, so I just bought LotF: Betrayal but I will not read it yet. Now, before you start throwing things at me, let me explain. Since I don't have #2 yet, I want to wait so I can read them all the way through instead of reading #1 then waiting a while for #2 then waiting again. So, I will probably read either X-Wing #5 Wraith Squadron or The New Rebellion.

"Duel of the Droids" tonight @ 9 on Cartoon Network

Till next time...
The Force will be with you........always.

I'm glad you liked it... it was a very excellent book (and the Ssi-Ruu come back in the NJO too). I know this is a lot, but I suggest you read NJO before LOTF (or at least some summaries on wookiepedia)... some background knowledge will most likely help immensely.

And wow! Only two more books until Quest Part I is complete! Awesome! :D

The Truce at Bakura is amazing. It's always been one of my favorites, probably because it has Wedge in it, even briefly. I agree, with the last comment, you should definitely read some of the NJO before LOTF. I tried reading the books out of order and it wasn't as good because I knew the endings before the beginnings, and lots of the characters are new, too. Also, the Ssi-Ruu come back in the NJO, wait somebody already said that, so they come back in Force Heretic II: Refugee, but you should definitely read FH I first.
