Dynasty of Evil is on the shelves. Huzzah!
I don't have any sales figures yet, but it seems to be doing well based on Amazon rankings, for whatever that's worth.
So far the fan reaction seems to be pretty good, though of course there are those with dissenting opinions. I knew this book would be controversial in its ending, but honestly I didn't realize WHAT the controversy would be about.
I'll admit - I left some ambiguity in the final chapter. However, I thought the core narrative was pretty clear and straightforward. Based on the arguments raging across various SW forums, however, I obviously should have been clearer.
Now, let me start by saying that I think debate is good and healthy (when it stays civil - never a given on the internet). However, there are larger issues at stake here (such as continuity of the SW universe), and as much as my detractors love to claim I don't give two lightsaber shakes about continuity, the truth is I do.
I also like to let my work stand on its own, but in this case I've decided to offer a little clarification on what happened at the end of the novel. So, if you haven't read the book I'll just state that I am a proponent of the reliable narrator. If the narrator tells you something, you can believe it. I don't try to trick the reader; I won't lie to you in the narrator's voice. Keep that in mind and the ending should be clear.
However, if you've read the book and you still have questions then you can go to the
NOVELS section of my website and click on the Super Secret Spoiler link. (That's right - I'm not posting the link here just in case someone accidentally clicks on it and ruins the book for themselves by accident.)
While you're there, you might also want to check out my
NEWS page as well - I try to update every couple of weeks or so. This last update includes the thrilling story of my Vegas half-marathon. (SPOILER ALERT: I survived.)
Okay, that's all for now.
Embrace the dark side.
