Star Wars Marathon: Part 7
JediPaul here, with another blog entry on the marathon!

More Episode IV observations:

A: Has anybody noticed that Han shoots Greedo not once, but twice?

B: And that Han moves his head slightly to the right just when Greedo shoots?

C: And that Greedo's shot bounces off the wall?

D: When the stormtroopers march into the Deathstar room where 3PO and R2 are, the trooper on the far right bonks his head on the door!

E: It's hilarious the way Han chases those troopers down the corridor. They look like they just saw a Rancor! And the room where they stop and turn to fight is literally full of troopers and pilots!

F: When Han and Luke are firing at the TIE fighters, you can see one TIE with a boxy, lighter color around it. Didn't notice this the first several times I watched the movie. Must be where they added the TIE into the starfield background.

G: So, just what is "outgassing"? Is the one trooper telling the other he just cut the cheese and it's nothing, don't worry about it? Although, technically, I suppose that would be "ingassing", since any gas would probably stay in their suits!

H: In the movie, Gold Leader says "Lost Tiree...lost Hutch." -- according to the subtitles. I read in the SW book that it was Tiree and "Dutch". Which is right?

I: When R2 gets hit by Vader, there's a lot of flame/sparks around the top of his head. Then, if you look past Luke in the cockpit, R2 looks perfectly okay. And, in a later side view, R2's head again looks okay.

J: Why doesn't Chewie get a medal? I heard that if Wookiees don't get medals, they pull people's arms out of their sockets! Maybe that was why he said ARGH! twice at the very end of the movie.

Comments are Welcome!

Many of these things have been pointed out before, though Han shooting twice somehow got past me. Thanks for sharing! :)

G: So, just what is "outgassing"? Where is this in the movie?

As far as Han shooting Greedo twice, I have noticed that before.

Good catch on R2's damage. It probably has something to do with when they shot the sequences or some other technical explaination.

Have you been able to see the movie before all the changes were made? It's pretty interesting to see all the differences.

Great observations.

Where is this in the movie?

In the scene where Obi-wan was deactivating the tractor-beam. Two stormtroopers are there, Obi uses the force to distract them and one asks "What was that?" and the other says "Outgassing. Don't worry about it." -- It's in the DVD subtitles.

hmm...It's probably the exhaust steam that's always shooting out of things.
