I'd like to give Galaxies a try too, if my computer wasn't so slow and it wasn't so expensive.

I played a 14-day trail of SW Galaxies, but that was before the radically changed it, so I don't have a ton of experience with it. I doubt it'd be as good as WoW, since I hear that's a top-of-the-line Massive Multiplayer Online RPG, but it might be worth trying. I did play a little of the new Galaxies. Despite it running really badly on my computer, and only getting a small bit of it in the demo, it looked pretty interesting.

If you want a good free MMORPG. there's Anarchy Online. It's not SW, but you can find where to download it off the Anarchy Online official website.

I played Star Wars Galaxies for a short while. It was fun at first, but, for me, it lost its novelty fairly quickly. If you like video games, though, I would say it's definitely worth a try.

SWG is a nice view of the Star Wars world and worth the time for a trial download.

As an MMORPG, it lacks the originality of it's original launch format. The game now is a grind fest, often ending with a toss of the hands and a vow to never return.

I do always advise the trial. Even with the horrible mechanics, the worlds are worth a peek...at least for 14 free days.

SWG started out as a great game. A fantastic community developed within the game. I had a lot of fun playing SWG for quite a time until they changed it. Now the game is only a shadow of what it once was.

One thing that really went well was the Jump to Lightspeed expansion for SWG. The only problem I can see with this is that many of the ships and parts have to be crafted by players and there doesn't appear to be much of a population in the game now days.

I recently tried the game again to see what changes have come about since I quit playing. I have to say that I'm still not impressed.
