A few days ago, I went to the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia and saw the awesome Star Wars exhibit. It was spectacular! I didn't realize how tall the destroyer droid really is and I found it interesting that most of the parts for ships and blasters could be found in your local hardware store.
I paid extra for a trip on the
Millennium Falcon, where I got to sit in the captain's seat (Han's) and my best friend sat in Chewy's seat. I was a little disappointed in the length of simulation (about 5 minutes) but other than that it was awesome.
The main exhibit was great and I took a lot of pictures. Unfortunately, I do not currently have a Photobucket account. Oh well.
One of my favorite things was the Jawa camp game. In it, you were in charge of moving these little blocks around on a board and the computer would take the location of the blocks to create a virtual Jawa camp.
Another interesting thing was the droid workshop. There you could program a little Artoo unit to perform basic tasks like go forward, turn left, and go to the end of the track. The real downside was that there were tons of screaming kids in that area hogging all the seats.
The Star Wars store was OK as stores go. The real thing I was looking for was a Greedo mask, but that wasn't there so I had to resort to trying on a C3-PO one.
I did, however, add an AT-AP to my clone army for $32.00 plus tax.
I wish to thank Lucas for allowing us fans to see some of the amazing things that make Star Wars so special.
May the Force be with you.
