The Truce At Bakura
Shortly after the blowing up of the second Death Star, Luke redeeming his father, Darth Vader dying and Anakin Skywalker killing the Emperor before dying... Shortly after the celebration in Endor, there comes a new threat to the soon to be New Republic, still divided into Empire without and Emperor and the Rebel Alliance...

A call for help coming from a planet out in the Rim, Bakura, asking for help to the Emperor, regarding a threat of invasion from an allien species take the heroes of the Alliance, Leia, Han and Luke, to a mission with many things on stake, political and about the destiny of the whole Galaxy as well...

Leia and Han relationship is one of support and arguing, still in need of working out many issues. Luke is a Jedi, but still needs to figure out so many things, and even if he has good old Obi Wan Force ghost, he doesn't help a great deal anyways... ;)

Leia also needs to deal with the fact that Vader, or better said, Anakin Skywalker is her father... and even if this book was written before the prequels, and now we have to imagine a different Anakin Force ghost, the scene when she just refuses to accept where she comes from is a powerful one, cause we see how much of Anakin is in her, in her tempter.

Emotions and very well deployed in this book and although I would consider some characters a bit weak... the book as a whole does a good work on showing the conflicts of our well known characters, and also gives us a necessary picture about how even after a great victory over evil there is still much work to do...

Rating: a high Acceptable if not Exceeds Expectations.
