Courtship Of Princess Leia
It's taken me a while to be able to read this book, I've read many reviews of it, and it didn't look pretty, but after reading them all I felt like I needed to read this book myself. And after all... Leia's always been one of my favourite characters (along with her daddy and her trusted R2D2) and I want to read the book when she married our beloved scoundrel, Han Solo.

The book is set four years after ROTJ and Truce at Bakura or 8 years ABY. It stars with Han Solo coming back to Corustcan from a mission that hasn't been as successful as he had hoped to find some comfort in Leia's arms. But what he finds is something very different, he's dragged to another diplomatic and very formal event where he finds out that a Charming Prince from the Hapan cluster wants to marry his Princess, and not only that, but the main representatives of the former Rebel Alliance are egging Leia to marry that guy for the greater good. Han takes some desperate meassures (wins a planet in a Sabbac game, kidnaps Leia and take her there) to try and win Leia's heart back, cause it seems that our tough and intelligent princess has fallen for this guy and forgotten about Han as a highschooler would do, fascinated for the "popular guy"...

Luke arrives ar Coruscant and finds the mess behind all that, and decides to go looking for Han and Leia, the Charming Prince goes with him, and they arrive to a planet surrounded by Imperial Forces (of the same Warlord Han was trying to bring down before finding out some dude was stealin his girl), inhabited by Female Force Users, both light side (Witches of Dathomir) and dark side (Nightsisters)... Things get tough, there is a good fight and in the end, Han and Leia get together again, Prince Charming falls in love with one of the Witches, Luke learns a lot about the Force and find out some lost archives of the Old Jedi Order, the Warlord is defeated (probably the best line in the whole book, Han saying: "Kiss my Wookiee!") and everything is fine and dandy.

The flaw of this book, as I see it, is that even if SW has a lot of mythical themes, this book goes straight to the fairy tale side of storytelling, with the known characters going completely off character... I felt like slapping Leia a few times during the book!

But it 's quite interesting to see other Force Users than the Jedi, and the way the Witches of Dathomir view the Force is interesting. And... we get Threepio singing!
