Throughout the 28 years of Star Wars, George Lucas (as well as dozens of Star Wars authors, game makers, etc.) has created thousands upon thousands of characters with a variety of unique, intriguing, and sometimes bizarre names (anyone remember Tallisibeth Enwandung Esterhazy from
Dark Rendezvous?).
While this doesn't apply to all names in Star Wars, many of them (the most obvious being Sith names) have deeper meanings, usually twists on words that describe that character's personality.
Here is a list of all different Star Wars Characters (Movies as well as EU) that I know of that have meanings to their names (definitions from Dictionary.com). I am not definitely sure if all of these names are based on these words, just logical guesses. If anyone has more that they can think of I will update the list as the information comes in:

-
Finis Valorum (thanks to
