Star Wars Galaxies, Lucasarts, and more Game Ramblings
Greetings fellow bloggers, and happy holidays! Son Of Skywalker15 here to blog about the many mysterious of Star Wars, from the EU to the details of the cut-scenes of movies. (Okay, not the latter, but you get my point.) Today I'm going to talk (write) about Lucasarts, where I think it's going, SWG, where I think it's going, and a assortment of other gaming topics.

First, let's discuss Lucasarts itself; more specifically their recent team-up with gaming company Bioware. Now, we all know they were the wonderful guys who brought to the gaming world Knights Of The Old Republic , but now they are working with Lucasarts on an "interactive entertainment product" and the details will be reveled at a later date. I'm not going to go into this because I have, but I think it's going to be good, Kotor III, Kotor MMO, or something else, and will bring back LA to its glory days of 02'/03'.

Second, I wanted to discuss the future of Star Wars Galaxies and maybe even a Jedi Knight 4. Due to the recent Lucasarts & Bioware partnership, many people have started to speculate that they will be making a MMO, or Massive Multi-Player Online Game. Right now I'm leaning towards this possibility. So what does this mean for SWG? Well, I'm not sure. I think they could have both going on, but with the major fan disappointed of Galaxies since 05' it would be a perfect opportunity to phase it out. Should they? I my opinion, I don't think so, but I'm not the person in charge.

Now, you may be wondering to yourself why I'm suddenly talking about a Jedi Knight 4. As you may be aware, Free Radical and Lucasarts teamed up a long time. However, what may not be as well known is the fact they are creating a FPS, or first person shooter. I truly believe that if this is Jedi Knight 4, Bioware is making a Kotor MMO, and Kotor III is being made by Obsidian, then Lucasarts will be in a wonderful place in 2009/10.' I would personally buy, love, and throughly enjoy that game. Anywho, let's move unto my other ramblings.

After being a member of these forums, as well as Lucasarts' forums, I've seen many, many people trash Lucasarts. Some points are valid, but most points are never backed up. As fans we tend to look more at the negatives, rather than really praise the positives. (Though certainly that isn't true in all cases.) While I certainly don't condone all the actions of LA, I'd like to take this time to say that LA has been wonderful for the last 25 years, and here's hoping to 25 more!

Until next time, friends. SOS15

I thought the rumor about Free Radical was that they were making Battlefront 3. Any thoughts on that?

I'm late to the discussion, but better late than never.

I'm hoping that Bioware and LucasArts are making either KotOR III or a KotOR MMORPG. I played SWG for four years (since the release date). I've loved it, but I'm worn out on it. The barrier to playing in average session, after being largely eliminated, has returned. It is hard to accomplish anything without acquiring buffs, putting together the right modded suit, etc.

If Bioware is now making a Star Wars MMORPG, I hope they focus on the adventure and less on the sand box. That opinion isn't popular with a lot of SWG purists, but it is my opinion.

I'd love to see Battlefront III and a Jedi Knight IV as well.

Could be. Considering Padmic made the others though I'm not so sure. Either way is cool with me ;)

I agree with you totally. I also think Bioware could do it, and I'd play it.
