There's an annoying saying out there, that like so many other sayings in this world, is spreading rapidly. "Fu**, I never actually learned this shi*." This is in reference to finals. Well, I'd like to amend that saying to: "Damnit, I learned this shi* a while ago but have forgotten it!"
Indeed.
Ah, finals are upon us. Well, at least most of us. What makes finals so irksome for people? Is it the all-nighters? Well, I barely sleep anyway, so it's of no consequence to me. Is it the large amount of hours put into studying when you'd rather do something else? Presumably, it's a combination of both....amongst other things, perhaps. Well, for anyone who cares to read, I've outlined my list of finals coming up and given a description of how I may very well do on them.
1.
Latin - The big thing that annoys me about this final is that, at least relatively speaking, the material is worthless. Latin is dead, no two ways about it. Although learning some of the words may enhance your knowledge of English, the vocabulary is just one cog in a big machine. Now, I generally have an extremely difficult time with languages in general. I feel that the classes just move through the material too quickly, and it seems as if I'm the only one who can't garner an understanding of the language within the time of the tests. Still, I think I'll do okay. I've been busting my balls since last semester seeking extra help.
2.
Grammar - My best subject by far, so it'll be extremely easy. The only thing I actually need to study is diagramming.
3.
Algebra 2 - I'm just horrendous at mathematics in general, and this class is no different. Even if I study for an extremely long time (go overboard), I still have a good chance at failing. It's just a disability of mine....I cannot do maths. There are just too many steps in it for me, and too many different formulas. It angers me.
4.
World History - You dig your own holes in this class. It's got a ton of information you've got to know, which means you'll need to study for a while to do well. However, it's straight-forward and you're guaranteed a decent grade if you study. I like history, I like this class....I'll do very well.
5.
English - After grammar, this is my best class. I'll have to study just to make sure I've got down all the stories, but it's something that is well within my capabilities (not to be arrogant).
Then I'm done. My last class is an elective, and it doesn't have a final (band). Although, I played a mini concert at my school...perhaps that qualifies as a "final."
