Luke Skywalker's kill-rate. My God, he's a Mass Murderer!!!! Gallery Part 7
Okay, before I start, I want you to realise that this is a work in progress. I simply do not possess every single piece of fiction written about Luke. To simplify this search, I have narrowed it down to EU only, and even then only the comics. (To go through every book and count the kills would be just plain silly, right?)

To make things even easier (for me), I neglected to use such sources as Devilworlds, Russ Manning's The Early Adventures and even the ALTA Marvel stories.

I may get around to including the above omiitted sources, just let me finish buying all the reprinted ALTA books first.

The results are loosely in chronological order. Oh, and I'm not talking about kills from the old seat of his X-Wing either, I'm only interested in his CQB kills. (Thats Close-Quarter Battle, for those of you who are lovers, not fighters)

SO, without further ado, I give you Luke Skywalker - Serial Killer...

1. Empire #8 (Darklighter) (flashback only)

Like Antonia Banderas in Assassins, Luke slots a womp rat in Beggar's Canyon from long range with his rifle. Not exactly close-quarter, but it's cold.

2. Classic Star Wars #6

On an unnamed planet near Fondor, Luke inadvertantly causes the death of the Supreme Serpent Master as he uses his lightsaber to sever his serpent control medallion from around his neck, causing the master to leap to catch the device....and plummet to his doom.

3. Classic Star Wars #10

On the planet Aridus, he throws proton charges (so does C-3PO) at an Imperial hover-train, causing it to explode. It's not clear how many beings were on board, or if any survived.

4. Classic Star Wars #13

On Hoth, prior to the Rebel Alliance occuption there, the farmboy strikes Frija's father with his saber when faced with a blaster in the face. However, it turns out that Frija and her father are both droids.

5. Classic Star Wars #17

On route to Hoth for a second time, Luke and Han land the Falcon on a strange, lush planet for repairs (how unusual). Whilst exploring, Luke kills a man-eating plant with lots of blaster fire for self preservation reasons.

6. Classic Star Wars #20

Deep in the underground caverns of Hoth, Lukie kills a giant Dragon-Slug with repeated strikes of his lightsaber.

7. Empire #26 ("General" Skywalker)

Luke deflects a blaster bolt with his lightsaber, sending it into the chest of a stormtrooper, presumably the one who fired it in the first place. That'll learn him.

8. Empire #27 ("General" Skywalker)

Whilst disguised as a stormtrooper, Luke and his fellow rebels enter into a fracas with the Imps. Luke sabers at least two stormies.

9. Splinter of the Mind's Eye (comic adaptation)

On Circapous IV, Luke (and Leia) are involved in a firefight whilst escaping from the Imperial detention centre there. It's not clear whether the fallen stormies are caused by Luke (could have been by Leia, who was also firing), but it's probable.

Luke definitely kills two native Coway with his lightsaber. He also slices off the hands of another just like his father did to Dooku.

Two more stormtroopers are definitely seen dying by Luke's saber (what else?)

The guardian monster of the Temple of Pomojema is also killed by lightsaber-assisted falling masonry.

10. Empire #30 (In the Shadows of Their Fathers)

Luke is involved in a firefight against stormtroopers, and although one is dropped for sure by Luke, there could have been others (but they could have been from Jabiimi Loyalists).

11. Empire #34 (In the Shadows of Their Fathers)

Luke slays one Jabiim Nationalist and two stormtroopers with his saber, and deflects a blaster bolt into another.

12. Shadows of the Empire (comic adaptation)

Luke kills at least 4 Barabel bounty hunters with his new green lightsaber. He also chops up a dianoga and a Xizor palace guard.

13. Shadows of the Empire: Evolution

At least one Black Sun soldier falls by Luke's blade.

14. Heir to the Empire (comic adaptation)

Now that Luke's been a Jedi Knight for a few years, he thinks it's ok to kill 12 Noghri, most of them with a thrown lightsaber. Clever eh?

A Vornskr also sees the business end of his saber, as does a stormtrooper.

More stormies and an Imperial officer die by Luke's hand as he causes an archway to collapse on a squad of them.

15. Dark Force Rising (comic adaptation)

Two Imperial troopers are added to Luke's tally, as well as another sabered stormie.

Several more stormtroopers meet their maker as Luke sends them out of a ship's window to boldy decompress in vacuum.

16. Dark Empire

After deflecting laser cannon fire into it's head, Luke's "size matters not" failure is way past him as he topples an AT-AT, just because he can.

I'm sure Luke has the future of the Galaxy in mind as he kills several of the Emperor's clones whilst still in their cloning vats. Yes you heard me, Luke slaughters them at birth!!

Surprised?

You should be, I thought it'd be a lot more than that. No kills in Dark Empire 2 or Empire's End or even The Last Command. So whats the count? See below:

1 x AT-AT
Several Emperor's clones
1 x vornskr
12 x Noghri
2 x Imperial troopers
11 x confirmed stormtroopers, many more unconfirmed
1 x Black Sun soldier
4 x barabel bounty hunters
1 x dianoga
1 x Xizor palace guard
1 x Jabiimi Nationalist
1 x Temple of Pomojema guardian monster
2 x Coway
1 x giant dragon-slug
1 x man-eating plant
1 x droid
1 x Imperial hover train
1 x Supreme Serpent Master
1 x Womp Rat

Not bad really, seeing as though most of the kills were when he was still a youngster, and not even a trained Jedi. Still, thats the horrors of war for you.
