No this is not a blog on how Jedi kept their vows of celebacy.
I was thinking today about how Yoda and Obi-wan disappeared when the died compared to the others. Within my new age beliefs I think I know the answer to that. It would be similar to the concepts put forth by James Redfield in the Celestine Prophecy books (If you've never read them. Give them a look. They are a fast adventurous read.) . It's really a matter of vibration and spiritual evolution.
Gui-gon probably didn't advance enough in his life to willfully bond is soul/body with the force upon death but since he followed the Force's will his spirit joined. Obi-wan and Yoda on the other hand willed themselves to join the force at the moment they died. They essentially at that moment vibrated their souls and body to a higher vibratory plane of exsistence. A vibration too high for our eyes to see. So it appeared they vanished. They could will themselves to a slower vibration temporarily to appear to Luke as force ghosts.
It would stand to reason there are levels of the Force to attain to. I doubt that where they went after death was the ending of their advancement. Like the new age equivalent they moved from one higher dimension to another as they became ready for each step in the process. Creatures in the Star Wars expanded universe that appear to have no connection to the force probably vibrated at a different level making the Force sensitives unable to sense them. Palpatine may have even slowed down the vibrations in himself to hide from the Jedi and cloud his actions.
It's comes down to a not so simple matter of vibrating the body and soul at the same time to the higher plane of the Force just before death. Perhaps Vader never even hit Obi-wan. He joined the moment just before the lightsaber struck. Either way they made an evolutionary jump spiritually speaking.
May the Force be With You!
And good vibrations for all!
