Anthropological discovery in my closet
A few weeks back I had been going through a box of comics trying to straighten it up. The comics, over the many moves I had done in past years, were a bit disheveled. Anyway to get along with the story. There was some things at the bottom of the box I did not know or at least remember were there.

Most were not that big a deal but one was treasure I did not know I still had. A vintage Kenner Star Wars Collection booklet from 1982. It would have been even cooler if it was from 78 or 79 but cool none the less. For those too young to remember. These came in the boxes with the vehicles or playsets. I can imagine that I git this one with the AT-AT, The Battle Damaged X-wing, or the Dagobah Playset. It is hard to say exactly. My guess is based on what is offered in the booklet as well as the year associated. The have a stunted version they put in the packaging now days but not like the old ones back in the day.

I snapped some shots of each page and layered them into one image. I also zoomed in on the fan club info on the last page. I do apologize about blurriness of some of them. My camera is a piece of crap when it comes to low light or close up, & my tripod is broken.

Also I am including some recent acquisitions that go with collection blogs I already posted.

Spirit Anakin
Vader BobbleHead & Holographic Vader
& R2 captured by the Ewoks

Also just for the laughs I had to include a picture I took of my daughter's Barbies. I came home and they were arranged this way. She often takes the clothes off and says they are having splash day (swimming). It has become a joke between my wife and I. This captured my amusement more than usual just because she had all the naked Barbies surrounding the Prince like he was some sort of playa. The prince must of had it goin' on that day.;)

I have taken my photos for my next two collection blogs and as soon as I get the photos uploaded to photobucket I'll post them.

Later!:)

WHY is Ken wearing pants with his harem??? :D

Speaking of Barbies and relative to this blog...in the days before the Drak Times...before the Empire...well, before Star Wars existed, I used to LOVE the booklets that came with Barbie stuff, so I can really appreciate the booklet you linked!!

Cool stuff!

The only reason the pants are still on him is because they are for some reason very difficult to remove. Probably not for lack of having tried. :^O The best thing is that she is so innocent of it all that it makes it that much more funny to me.

I was surprised that anything like it survived at all. The parental units purge of 94 - 95 was not kind to the things in my room.

:D

Ken clothes are hard to remove!

So ironic, being in the position to actually make some kids' rooms parental purges, I find myself wanting to make damned sure not to throw anything away they might want...yet the stuff is just piling up! Every time they're home, there's more stuff! I have to say, my parents haven't purged ANYTHING of mine...and I've been out of the house for 25 years!

Love those booklets, neat find there.

Those are the types of items that may not be "worth" a whole heck of a lot but are great fun additions to a collection, and they probably are really pretty rare, I mean how many people ever actually KEPT those things?

is it just me or does "Spirit Anakin" look like Glinda the Good Witch from Wizard of Oz in that pic???? seriously WTF?

I gotta say for a guy with no gentilalia that Ken dude sho got it goin' on...! ]:)
