As I wrote a few weeks ago, I now have an iPod. In addition to music and episodes of Lost and Foster's Home for Imaginary Friends, I've been downloading a few podcasts. I've still yet to find a French language instruction podcast that I actually like and the Abbott & Costello podcast on iTunes seems to have died, but I've discovered one that I'd like to share.

7th Son is a serialized podcast novel trilogy written by JC Hutchins, now in it's second book. The first book, 7th Son: Descent, tells the story of a group of men who are one by one kidnapped and brought to a government installation, only to discover that they are... (and I think this is what makes it so appealing for Star Wars fans...) clones. But this is right here, on Earth, in our time, not a galaxy a long time ago and far, far away. I won't say more, because I mean only to tease you into downloading this. I don't want to spoil it for you. The story continues in 7th Son: Deceit, and the story is currently up to chapter 10.

Don't let the fact that the story is already one book done and 10 chapters into the second stop you. Some of the chapters are short, while others are long, but they go quickly. Oh, and start with the first book first. The second picks up minutes after the end of the first, and you'll need to have heard the first book for the story to make sense. I'm really enjoying 7th Son, and I think you will too. Plus, the theme music to Descent, from a New England band called Ethic, rocks. I'm sure I'll be hooked on the Deceit music too. I just started listening to Deceit (I'm catching up too) so the music hasn't embedded itself in my brain the way Ethic has.
