During my current re-read of
DN:TJK pg 178;
"The Jedi are not servants of the Galactic Alliance," Alema countered.
"No, we aren't," Luke agreed.
"But a peaceful Galactic Alliance is the strongest pillar of a peaceful galaxy," Luke continued "And the Jedi do serve peace. If the Reconstruction fails and the Galactic Alliance sinks into anarchy, so does the galaxy. The Jedi will have failed."
After reading and getting enthrawled in
Legacy, with the Jedi hit hard by the Empire with the Sith as their allies, I was hooked and enthrawled. Then I was re-reading
DN:The Joiner King getting ready for
Bloodlines to come out, I was shocked by what I came across in light of the events of
Legacy SHOCKED! Had my eyes tricked me and my mind fooled me? Did Luke of all people just hint at a prophecy? Was this planned? Was this just the intricate workings of the Force? Did he NOT just say -
"If the Reconstruction fails and the Galactic Alliance sinks into anarchy, so does the galaxy. The Jedi will have failed."?
And yet by the time of
Legacy, the Jedi's reconstruction after the Vong war has failed, the Sith rose, flurishing the same failures that turned the GA against itself, alowing the Empire to rise as it fell, and hence THE JEDI HAVE FAILED!!!!
WOW I said to myself, my hats off to the writters, wheather on purpose or most importantly not, it all fits together well IMO.
Krayt's plans are the next best weapon against the Jedi since the Clone Wars. IMO he's up there with Palpatine for sure as one of the most tactical of the Sith.
Now I wonder, does this failure fall back onto Luke? Or should it lay at the feet of the Jedi that were in charge at the time of
Legacy?
1. Krayt was planning this since the war with the Vong ended, Luke was still around, yet NEVER sensed his or his order.
2. Luke was dead by the time the events unfolded, so hence blame shouldn't be laid on him for the Order he formed's failing to sense and stop the manipulations of the Sith, and so forth blame falls on the Jedi of the Time.
3. Does this failure taint all that Luke has created in his Orders Legacy?
I look at these questions and cannot find easy answers, yet the Jedi way is anything but easy so I rest assured in the end all is as it should be. May the Force be with Cade Skywalker.
