Canon, Unlocking the mystery
A long time ago in a galaxy far far away....

This right here answers all the debates about canon, SW is a story, a story from long ago, and just like every story told, there are variations in it from teller to teller. Grand Master George of course is the one who knows what happened best, but his is just one version of many.

Some events DID happen, others have been retold so many times they are now "contraditory" to his story. Some say this is a problem, I say it just makes sense. IF SW did happen (which we all know it didn't) it happened long ago, just like the Yuuzhan Vong no one knows exactly what took place back then, even GL. Take Han Solo shooting Greedo, later GL found eveidence that Greedo in fact did shoot first.

As with all stories, things get embelished, changed, forgotten. And us the readers fight over what really happened. In the end NO ONE knows for sure, for not only is it a story, but it has a life of it's own. We all take and give a part of ourselves when we read about it, and this is why no matter what we agree or dissagree about it, we all love it.

Canon or no canon.

I love the idea that Star Wars is a myth, subject to misinterpretation and embellishment. Great idea. Have a cookie. :D
