 | Finally . . . Animated Sequences |
Since I have dubbed myself the un-official Clone Wars deconstructionist, I will provide you with my impressions of the trailer released this afternoon.
I like it. I can hardly wait another year to see a full episode. As long as the series is short on that pill Padme I'm sure I will love it.
Stylistically, I prefer this 3-D rendering to the micro-series and am thoroughly impressed with the space and battlefield imagery. The characters' appearances are still a little awkward, but I'll get over it.
I wonder how many episodes they will produce? Will we see the transition between the Fett-style clonetropper helmets to the stormtrooper variety?
Upon reading the celebration blog, I am thrilled that the directors are taking their tonal cues from episode IV. One of the things that I felt was missing from the prequel films was the playful banter and true partnership between Anakin and Obi-Wan. Kenobi describes Anakin as a good friend to Luke. My sincere wish is that we see that relationship developed in this series. The only glimpse we see of it in the films is the first 25 minutes of ROTS [the best moments of the prequels by the way].
I am looking forward to seeing the Hero without Fear earning his mantle as a powerful Jedi that ancient Yoda describes to Luke on Dagobah. We have seen the beginning and the end of the Clone Wars, but now we get to see the authentic Star Wars with General Kenobi at his finest.
