The Waiting Game
Anyone else tired of waiting?

Yep, me too. It's less than three days till the worldwide release of Star Wars: Episode III--Revenge of the Sith, and here we are, waiting, waiting, waiting until the clock strikes midnight and we can all pile into the theaters and watch that familiar "Star Wars" logo hit the screen, hear that John Williams score in the background, and reflect on our memories of a saga that's kept many of us enthralled for years now.

But what do we do until then? Obviously many of us are taking the opportunity to use these nifty new Hyperspace toys and create our first "blog" entries. Others are waiting in lines from Seattle to Los Angeles to herald the opening of the movie (those of you in lines out there, you're braver men and women than I).

For me, I've spent the last few months getting ready for the film by reading as much Star Wars material as possible. From the books and comics to magazines and web diaries, I've tried to keep up with everything going on in this crazy, mixed up rush up to May 19, 2005.

It's going to be rather surreal when it's all over, walking out of the theater at about 2:30 a.m. Thursday morning, and realizing that I've just watched the last Star Wars movie--ever.

But then I remember "hey, I'm Mr. EU Guy! I've got the books, and comics, and stuff to look forward to!" And I'm relieved, because I know that Star Wars isn't coming to an end, but that we're just beginning to see how Uncle George came to this point and led us down this path.

Well I'd like to say, before I actually see the film, a big thank you to George Lucas, who brought our imaginations to life with his view of a galaxy far, far away... May you do well in whatever you have planned next!

Live Long and May the Force Be With You!
