Help me Ben Skywalker. You're my only hope.
I am so behind. The Star Wars Expanded Universe is passing me by. I am just about to finish Betrayal, the first book in the Legacy series, and Sacrifice came out today, so that means I am 4 books behind in the series. I haven't checked the comic books store lately, but I know I have to be at least a few issues behind in the Legacy and Knights of the Old Republic comics. I can't even contribute to the message boards, because I am afraid I will see a spoiler for a book I haven't read yet. My website (jedidirectory.com) hasn't been updated in at least 6 months. The few people who actually were checking my site for updates stopped sending me emails a long time ago. There is so much Star Wars being released now, how do you keep up with it all?
Well, starting with Betrayal, I am making a serious effort to get back in the mix. The book was great. I am not sure if I have ever read an Aaron Allston book before. I never read any of the X-Wing books (not enough Jedi,) and I'm not sure if he wrote anything else. Did he do any NJO books? He is a great writer, and I am looking forward to reading his other books coming up in the series. The action in Betrayal was cool. I love the way he portrayed Luke and the way he used the Force. It definitely gives the impression he is the Jedi Master. For example, when the Jedi were being attacked at the conference Luke sensed it coming, hopped out of bed and coolly raised his hand toward the door. The door exploded inward from the attack and Luke easily repelled the blast back toward the attackers. No other Jedi knew what hit them, even the "all powerful" Jacen was caught off guard. Speaking of Jacen, I am not loving the new Force Powers they are giving him. He can see the future now? I loved the Solo brothers. They were a cool addition to the Jedi ranks and held so much promise to be the future leaders of the Jedi Order. Then Anakin was killed off in the NJO books and now Jacen is gonna be a Sith. I definately didn't see either of those coming, but I guess it's good they are keeping me guessing. Reading the part where Jacen is listening to Lumiya talk him into being a Sith made my stomach turn. It brought back images of Anakin Skywalker giving into selfishness and betraying Mace Windu and the rest of the Jedi. I was thinking "C'mon Nelani, kill Lumiya before Jacen does something stupid!" The end of Betrayal kept me on the edge and I loved it. I hope the rest of the series can live up to the first book.

Ben, I guess it's up to you now.
