So if you are familiar with rebelscum.com, you would know that they have an Annual Star Wars Halloween Costume Contest. This year they celebrated the tenth annual contest, ten years, baby!
Not being able to participate last year or the past years before, I thought it was time that I join but i'd have to think of something creative to have a better chance at winning, in case I don't win, then at least I had already participated and had a fair shot at winning.
And as I always seem to like doing, procrastinating and working at the last minute somehow in its own strange way works well for me. I came up with the idea the day before the deadline. Remember
this? Well, I was inspired by that photograph and thought what could I do to adapt that idea and use it in my entry?
So I ended up coming up with
THIS!
I had my younger cousin spend the night at my house, baked the cake, set up the action figures, got him in his Darth Vader costume which he wore for Halloween this year and put my Vader voice changer helmet on him and voila!
Oh just in case you may not understand the orange skittles in the middle of the cake stand for "RS" short for "rebelscum" since I couldn't have fit the whole word on such a small cake. The 10 candles and 10 action figures signify rebelscum.com's 10th year anniversary for the annual costume contest.
I was going back and forth checking the site yesterday for the official announcement of winners and around 10pm, I checked it and was genuinely shocked to see my entry
WIN 3rd PLACE IN THE KIDS CATEGORY! It's crazy, I still can't believe it, especially since it was a tough competition with over 85 entries!
I won these awesome prizes! a Clone Wars Action Figure pack and a TIE Fighter Classics Bust of course i'll have to share with my younger cousin so he's most likely going to get some new Clone Wars action figures.
Well, I guess that's it. I just wanted to share the great news with everyone else.
Many thanks to the rebelscum.com team, Sideshow Collectibles and Gentle Giant!
