Attack of the Sith
♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥

I feel stuffy,
Oh, so stuffy,
I feel stuffy and nauseated and no will to fight
And I pity
Any blogger who is feeling like me tonight.

I feel like puking,
Oh, so puking
It's alarming how nauseated I feel!
And still puking
That I hardly can believe I'm real.

See the sick girl in that mirror there:
Who can that poor girl be?
Such a sad face,
Such a red nose,
Such a sad smile,
Such a sick me!

I feel my nose running
And blowing,
Feels like running and blowing till it's blue,
For I'm stuffy
By a wonderful germ called the flu (aka Sith)! :_|

(It's all Deej's fault for getting me stuck on this song)

Did you really think I would leave the blogs without saying goodbye? I don't think so. I'm still here, gentle readers, watching, reading, crying and laughing with you. I've never left you. I just had to step away from the blogs for a while, until my body healed from the cold/flu (aka Sith). And I don't plan on leaving anytime soon. I'm sure that some of you are disappointed with this news and some of you are not. Do with it as you wish. I will continue to stay around for the love of Star Wars. After all, is that not what it is all about?

Anyway, I have been working on a blog. However, my blog got out of control and turned into a monster, forcing me to split it into two pieces. I stand good on my word. I promised a blog today, gorramit, I'm gonna post a blog today. This first blog is exactly as you read it; A Queen's guide to fighting the common cold/flu. I will post my second blog later this week. I'm sure all of you are holding your breath in anticipation over it.

Listed below is a guide, or home remedies, that helped me battle my cold/flu. Some worked better than others. I'm hoping that some of these home remedies, tips or advice will help you should you ever be faced with battling the cold/flu (aka Sith). ]:)

I dedicate this blog to you, gentle readers, hoping that it finds you in good health. This is my simple thanks to those that cared enough to stick by the Queen, through thick and thin. :x

Enjoy!!

A Queen's guide to fighting the common cold/flu:

1. Sleep - Sleep is the most vital ingredient to battling any unwanted germ that wants to take permanent residence inside your body. Don't fight it. Take the time off from work or school and go to sleep. Your body will heal quicker if you allow it to rest.

2. Aches/Pain/Cleanliness - Always keep pain killers around to battle any fever that might arise. Pain killers will also help with any body aches you may be feeling. Always wash your hands while at the Doctor's office or if you are exposed to sick people. Use your own pen and not those that are lying around countertops at stores or banks. Keep sanitize hand gel around your desk, purse or in your back pack. Germs like hands. WASH THEM until they crack. Try not to make it so easy for the germs to spread.

3. Fluids - Always make sure you drink plenty of fluids, most importantly, water. Keep Gatorade around to replenish your bodily fluids. Tea with honey does wonders for calming a sore throat as well as popsicles. If you can't sleep try adding some brandy in your tea (old remedy). That does not mean to get drunk, unless you want to become comfortably numb. A little bit goes a long way. You will find yourself falling asleep like a baby on this formula. Milk products tend to create phlegm. Try to avoid milk products, especially blue milk, while you are sick.

4. Nasal Decongestion - A necessity to dry up your nose and prevent further infection spreading to your lungs. Any brand will do. However, make sure you are not operating heavy machinery or driving. Word of advice: Never go to the DMV (Dept. of Motor Vehicles) while on nasal decongestion. Wow, man, what a rush. Let's just say I'm so glad I was not required to take any written or driving exam to renew my license. Heck, I don't even recall driving myself down to the DMV.

5. Cough Syrup - There are lots of cough syrup brands out to fight different types of coughs. For heavy congestion in the lungs, try to find cough syrup with Guaifenesin. This intoxicating ingredient, which once was prescription only, is now available over the counter. And for the stubborn congestion that wants to stick around and make you miserable, I highly suggest asking your Doctor for cough syrup with codeine. Any cough syrup containing codeine in it will knock you flat on your butt. Heck, you might even cough up a lung in the process. Never fear, your doctor will make sure you have inhalers so that you continue to breathe. A necessity if you wish to continue living.

6. Food - Let's face it, the good old appetite is just not the same when Mr. Flu is visiting your body. Don't get excited if you think this is a great diet plan. The body needs nourishment to battle any illness. Therefore, it is vital to keep food around that will agree with your body during this time. Make sure your pantry is stocked with plenty of soup, broth and crackers. Soup is not only soothing for a sore throat, but it has plenty of sodium in it, which will make drink more. Plus, it will help to flush out toxins and the flu from your body. Crackers (sodium crackers) help ease a nauseated stomach. Also, stock up on Jell-O. And not the diet crap either. Jell-O is another stomach friendly food and goes down real smooth when your throat feels like a ton of glass is ripping the hell out of it.

7. Entertainment - Step away from the blogs. Turn off your computer. Go back to the couch or your bed and lie down. Now is the time to take advantage of completing a Star Wars viewing marathon. Nothing is more soothing than falling into a blissful sleep while watching the greatest saga on the face of this planet. Just for giggles, you might want to take notes in case you get any brilliant ideas for a blog. I, unfortunately, did not have any brilliant blog ideas while watching the saga. Nor did I have any energy to take notes. Must have been all that cough syrup with codeine or tea with brandy I drank. I was already comfortably numb. :D

And there you have it, gentle readers; A Queen's guide to fighting the common cold/flu. And remember, always see your Doctor if things take a turn for the worse.

Scuse me...I'm off to Force choke my boss for passing her cold/flu to me.

TTFN :D
