I'm sure you have said the "never" statement or have heard someone say it somewhere. I thought I would take a humorous look back on some of the "never" statements that I have stated in my life, past and present, and share some of the one's that I have heard. Enjoy the contradiction and the unfortunate or fortunate events from them:
The Sith will never return: Then what the hell is this?
There will never be another Star Wars movie: Really? I swear I heard that exact statement 20 something years ago after the OT movies!
I will never read a Star Wars novel: This one hit the crapper for me in Sept 2005. I'm currently working on SW book No. 22 and still adding to the collection.
I will never like Darth Vader: Who's your daddy now...I can't get enough of him.
I will never be cliché: Yo, proof of being cliché right here.
I will never like the Mandalorians: Curse you Karen Traviss for giving me a change of heart.
I will never understand Mando'a: ken u jurkadir sha Mando'ade! (Don't mess with Mandalorians!)...Tend to get lost in translation, sometimes, but I'm trying.
I will never become a Hyperspace Member: Do you need any more proof than this...
I will never write a blog: Duh...
I will never get caught up in a blog debate: Duh, duh...
I will never use my FX Lightsaber for dueling: I broke one of my FX Lightsabers after I had a duel with a 10 year old kid at my girlfriend's Christmas party. Little kid kicked my butt and I was forced to buy a new one. Talk about a humble experience.
I will never gain another pound: No problem. I'm currently on a chocolate, chips and beer diet.
I will never eat chocolate again: It's like a vitamin. I have my regular daily dosage. See answer to "I will never gain another pound".
I will never own a computer: Broke down and bought a computer a month ago.
I will never prepare my own taxes: Bought the computer so I could prepare my own taxes. Took me 5 hours and blowing $1400, but by golly, I did it with the help of Turbo Tax.
I will never be engaged: Been there, done that, did it. Thank the Force I had enough sense to call off the engagement with my ex-idiot.
I will never own another cat: Adopted my little Darth Furball right after I broke off the engagement with my ex-idiot.
I will never love again: This is just silly. We love in many different ways.
I will never watch the Exorcist: Watched it (original version) and got the freakin' poodoo scared out of me. I had nightmares for months.
I will never grow my hair long again: Down to my shoulders now and I must say, has turned out to be a guy magnet.
I will never work overtime: Grudgingly worked over time the other night and wanted to kick the poodoo out of my boss for it.
I will never look for another job: I'm currently looking for another job as I write this blog.
I will never use organic deodorant: Using it now because it is suppose to be healthier for me. I think I will switch back to the regular stuff, because the organic stuff just doesn't work.
I will never live next door to my parents: Bought a Condo next door to my parents in 2004. Can you say "Everybody Loves Raymond"... *hears knock at the door*...Ahhh, I think my parents are at the front door, excuse me ...*Quick Darth Furball, turn off all the lights and hide*.
I will never see my older brother get married: He got married in Sept 2005 and the whole family lost their bets with him.
I will never get old: *coughs*....Sure. If you can't beat Mother Nature, than join her and fake her out in the process!
I will never lose my groove: Mina lost her groove 5 years ago. Those damn body joints just don't bend like they use to. BTW, I can groove, but man, I sure feel it the next day!!
My dear friends, if you ever think that this will never happen to you, you are dead wrong. As our little green friend once said, "So certain are you".
Alrighty now peanut gallery, this is your time to fess up. Spread your joy of the never-land saying, don't be shy.

too funny ... I hear ya though - how many of us do the "New Year's Resolution" thang? Crud, I used to get caught in that every darned year. Now that the major habit (smoking) is behind me, I just don't have anything to add to it in the beginning of the year. Maybe the beer and chocolate thing, but honestly, who doesn't like beer or chocolate ... daily ... or hourly ... or ...

LOL. Yeah, completely agree with you. Thank god you got rid of ex-idiot and hopefully you find someone else who is not as dumb. Darth Furball sounds really cute though  . Chocolate is supposed to be good for you anyways, (or so I heard) so I am in the Coca Cola, chips and cake diet with an ocasional chocolate bar (my b-day party was some days ago, and I still have some cake left).
I will never speak of purple lightsabers nor ask what BMF stands for ever again....
I think you mean to say that you will never speak of Vicomte's "Why is Mace's lightsaber purple?" incident again. I have surely broken that promise before....

My dear amidaloonie, what makes you think I can't use my imagination to come up with a "never" list for parenthood. All of my friends have children, so I can gather feedback and post a blog about the "never" parenthood list.
Me having kids?....Scary thought that is. And they would all be Jedi (no Harry Potter), whether they would like it or not!

I pretty much felt the same way until about 14 months ago. I just have one question: where the hell did you learn Mando'a? I have always wanted to learn a language from Star Wars, but I didn't know that it was possible to do that.

That was a great list of "I will nevers", because most of them are positives (sorry the engagement didn't turn out, I mean, sorry he was the wrong guy). There are a lot of "nevers" on your list that haven't happened for me yet and I was beginning to give up, but your responses to the "never" statements were very encouraging.

For your parenthood list, I'm no parent, but I have been a daughter for 15 years and I have some ones I have heard my parents say:
I will never:
-Let her watch movies in during the week. (After driving my mom nuts with ROTS every time I was bored. That one lasted less that a week)
-Let her play Battlefront late at night (too bad. it's spring break and I got it as a present ...sooo)
-buy her a disney movie (well..I always loved the Lion King, so we got it when it came out)

Thank goodness for that. I've already gone through those books. My "Jedi Obsession" actually started with the Jedi of the NJO and the tons books that take place after ROTJ, and then I included the Jedi of the Old Republic. But thanks for the suggestion!

AHHhhhhhh, you must live either in Washington or Oregon. Both States are known for heavy rain. At least these are the two that come to mind. Hey, California is almost under water we've had so much rain. Alas, I don't have to deal with wet fur, because I don't let Darth Furball (Gypsy) go outside!! You all come back now you here!!
