Celebration IV Unleashed
It had been a long day, Saturday May 26th, at CeleDORKtion IV. Standing in line for six hours to see Carrie Fisher and Anthony Daniels took a toll on me. Once the festivities came to an end, all I could think about was falling into the comfortable bed at The Bonaventure, where I finally would be able to rest my swollen, aching feet.

After entering the hotel room with Hansgirl and Jazzie, I slipped into my pajamas, climbed into bed and slowly drifted off into a deep, peaceful slumber, all the while having visions of Luke Skywalker dancing in my head. As I snored away, I dreamt of Luke wrapping himself around me. The dream felt almost too real that I woke up from my deep sleep only to find Hansgirl trying to cuddle next to me. She must have thought I was her husband while she was sleeping. :^O Needless to say, I was too tired to wake her from deep sleep, nor felt like moving myself, so I let her cuddle next to me and proceeded to drift back into a peaceful slumber. And that, gentle readers, is just the beginning of a behind the scenes look at CIV, from my point of view. Good times!! :D

This blog and its concept have been very difficult for me to write, mostly because everybody already blogged about CIV. And my camera broke while at the Con, wiping out all of the images I took including the only picture I had of Carrie Fisher, myself, Hansgirl and Jazzie. :( With that in mind, I decided to take a different approach in telling you about the Con and its festivities. Plus, I remember reading in a comment somewhere that K-Fan wanted to read about the not-so-pretty side of the Con. Henceforth, I give you CeleDORKtion Unleashed ~ A bravado look behind the scenes of CIV.

What better way to celebrate a Star Wars birthday than to be with a bunch of fun-loving fangirls at CIV, similar to myself. Hansgirl, Jazzie, Granny-Wan, Jedi Melinda and Padawan, M68 (one day only), E&H5, Jediprincess77, Ami, JediLily, AS1, PS77, Viago Angel and MO2YP all share a common love known as Star Wars. The only fangirls missing from the Con were Oboe-Wan, JediPug, GalacticBabe and Senator Sophia. They may not have been there with us in the flesh, but they were there in spirit.

Speaking of meeting bloggers in the flesh, it just so happens that I completely missed out on introducing myself to Brooklooineghost, Rivet Head, Rainbow Droideka, Gencrs, Sam the Smuggler, Yodabud and many, many other bloggers. However, I was able to meet many of these bloggers through out the course of the Con. As a matter of fact, I have a funny story to tell you about how I met Brooklooineghost and Rivet Head.

This particular incident occurred Friday morning, May 25th as I waited for Hansgirl outside the ladies room. Out of the corner of my eye, I noticed a tall gorgeous looking woman with a child, an older lady and a handsome young man walking towards my direction. They waved to me so I waved back, thinking they must know me from the blogs. After making it over to the area I was standing, they began to talk about the Meet n Greet party, the Star Wars shoes Hansgirl painted and how they were having difficulty finding a good breakfast place in town. Shortly thereafter, Hansgirl joined us and we both recommended the small cafeteria in the Bonaventure. They proceeded towards the cafeteria and we proceeded towards the Con. As Hansgirl and I got half way down the steps, I turned to her and said, "Who are those people?" Hansgirl looked at me, giggled and said "That's Brooklooineghost and Rivet Head." The look on my face was priceless. To make a long story short we went back to the cafeteria so that I could formally introduce myself to Brook and Rivet Head. Without a doubt, this was the most embarrassing moment for me at the Con.

Before I begin, I wish to extend a very special thank you to Hansgirl, Granny-Wan, DJ Maul, MO2YP and Darth Kerfuffles for letting me relive the Con through their eyes via the photos and videos they took. From the bottom of my heart, thank you guys.

Sorry for any repeats, but I've not had time to read all the CIV blogs. I'm still working on those. Hopefully, you will see something you haven't yet. :)

Let the show begin or break a leg or something like that:

~The Con Unleashed: I've been asked to explain what the Con was like. I think CIV was like being at Disneyland without a map. This picture of Nobby with his wife and Deej pretty much sums up what many of us were doing at the Con. Going no where fast. The maps were wrong, causing mass confusion. Never fear, we figured that place out by the last day.

Did I mention that there was a lot of waiting in lines...

And more lines...

Followed by more lines...

~Bloggers Meet n Greet: By far, the best part of the Con was the bloggers Meet n Greet held on Thursday night at the Liberty Grill. It was hosted by none other than our very own Deej. Special thanks to Michelle, Granny and Deej for putting together this wonderful party.

Let's get this party started already...

A VIP toast with some Skywalker wine. Where was I during this party? :^O

Hey, aren't these the ADG guys Deej chased away?

JediLily and Sol seem so happy to have their picture taken...

Amira, the belly dancer, teases the crowd...

Let the princess win...Jediprincess77 breaks out the Cantina song...

Jediprincess77 won this Queen's heart...

Green and White Jedi (pictured with JP77) gave me a Japanese coin purse that he purchased as a gift for me while over in Japan. What a sweet lad. However, I had to retrieve it from a rascal droid of mine. I, too, gave a gift to G&WJ but it was a gag gift based off of a comment he left in one of my blogs. I wanted to make sure he remembered that comment, forever. :^O

Angel and I have been consumed by the DJ Maul side of the Force...Followed by me playing with Deej's horns. The Sith made me do it... :D

I shall forever be known as the bootylicious kissin' Queen of the Con. The original plan was to have all the girls kiss Deej, but that plan failed as the alcohol flowed and the night progressed. However, Michelle68 seized the moment while at the con on Saturday, by letting the Queen give her a BIG SMOOCH. Who loves ya baby. By the way, my house is open to you, anytime. ;)

Stoogey provided the humor for the party and I finally got a picture with my Court Jester. Here is the YouTube link of his live performance...

Weary bloggers ready to get some sleep after a long day...

~Opening Ceremonies: It was a grand opening for a grand party. The only disappointment was that George Lucas did not make an appearance to his own party. I guess I can forgive him since he is working on Indy 4. However, Steve Sansweet and Jay Laga'aia did a fabulous job of pulling off the greatest party of all time.

Some of the best highlights included unveiling of the Star Wars stamp, Fett flying over us on jet packs at the end of the ceremony and, of course, being served Star Wars birthday cake. But, the crowd went wild when Jay Laga'aia broke out in song to "Celebration" by Kool and the Gang. Here is the YouTube clip of that moment.

And here is my version of that song, titled "CeleDORKtion"...:D

~The collecting side of the Force: I have become an addicted Star Wars toy junkie, thanks to Deej, Darth T-Bone, Nobby, Megatrends (not pictured), Viago Angel, Michelle68, Jediprincess77, JediLily, Jedi Melinda, G&WJ, Hansgirl and Jazzie, hereinafter known as "GHG-Geeks Helping Geeks."

Why did I purchase three different sets of Star Wars playing cards? I don't even like to play cards... :^O

My collection would not be complete without some Serenity cards, Star Wars stamps and an autograph by Jay Laga'aia...

Jazzie bought a ton of post cards and decorated her cube at work with them...

~Autographs: All of Celebrities at the Con were kind, friendly and fun to chat with. It was easy to walk right up to most of them and strike a conversation, with the exception of Carrie Fisher and Anthony Daniels. As a matter of fact, some of the Celebs flirted too. :D

I may not be able to show you the picture of Carrie Fisher, but I can show you a picture of the autograph I got from her.

MARA JADE LIVES...Nuff said!

Word has it, from a reliable source, that HAN SHOT FIRST. That information was confirmed directly to me by Greedo himself...

I've been converted over to the Fett side of the Force. There's just something about his accent...

I didn't know that Aurra Sing is blond?...

Attack of the Wampa and the fangirl trio...

Posing with a Jedi Master...

This Jedi Drama Queen didn't mind standing next to this Captain...

~Fan Club Breakfast: If you want to get up close and personal with some of the Lucas staff and a Celebrity guest of honor than this is the place to do it. The breakfast was not very good, but the company was great (Hansgirl, PS77 and Deej. :x). The event was relaxed and gave the fans a chance to listen to Mary Franklin, Steve Sansweet and Jay Laga'aia in a casual setting. Here are some clips from YouTube for your viewing pleasure on the event.

~Unusual events at the Con that some consider to be unnatural:

This guy is rethinking his life. Want some death sticks?

This is a Jedi Assembly of Jedi Masters I would trust my life with...NOT!

Elvis has NOT left the building...

BSG crashes Star Wars...

A Sithmobile. I want a ride like this...

Rumor has it that a Stormie got arrested while on his way to the Con...

Padawans getting last minute instruction before taking on the Dark Lord...

General Grievous makes an appearance at the Con...

R2 and buddies...

Darth Vader, the red nose reindeer, had a very Sithy side...

Did you know that MO2YP and AS1 auditioned for Star Wars?

I almost got my arse kicked by some guys because I snuck into the handicap line with my newly adopted Grandma and Yoda to save seats for the "One Man Star Wars Trilogy Show". :^O

I think I need to teach Granny how to use a lightsaber...:^O

PS77 risks her life by posing with Jabba the Hutt. Jazzie, on the other hand, got caught by the guards while trying to pick the slime off of Jabba's nose...Sorry, no picture of that one... :^O

Yoda has offspring....And he later tries to take off with the Falcon... :^O

Rebuilding Endor Forest...

This is what happens when you cross a Stormie with Spiderman...

Anakin and Obi-Wan did not battle on Mustafar...They battled at the Con...

What color is Mace's lightsaber?...

I tried my hardest to steal Luke's X-wing, but was stopped by Hansgirl...

The question I get asked the most is, 'Was it worth it?' You bet it was worth it. I wouldn't have changed a thing. Well, maybe a few things, but not much. I may have everlasting memories of swollen feet, bruised legs and arms and dark circles under my eyes from lack of sleep, but my smile says it all ~ Star Wars is forever.
