BEST STAR WARS BIRTHDAY EVER
I usually don't blog about my birthday, on my birthday or even mention the word "birthday" on my day. I'm one of those that likes to ignore my day, simply because it's a reminder that I'm getting older. And then I have to remind myself that it's the mileage, not the age and march forward like a good little Jedi in this galaxy far, far away. :^O

Lots of wonderful things have been happening to me since I joined the fan club known as the Rebel Legion. I felt it was time to share some of these wonderful events with you in my neck of the woods so endearingly called Endor Base (San Francisco, California) at the Rebel Legion.

I know that some of you probably think Star Wars is over now that no more movies will be made. I'm here to tell you, gentle readers, that Star Wars is far from being over. You just have to keep an open mind and be willing to go beyond the big screen. Granted, the Clone Wars has just been released in theaters and, although it may not be like the movies, it is worth making the effort to see it on the big screen. But I digress...

I'm talking about participating in other fan clubs; besides this place we call hyperspace. A whole new Star Wars world awaits you if you really want to continue the Star Wars legacy. All you need is a little bit of imagination, the willingness to go beyond the theater and no shame to bear it all in public, all the while knowing that you're doing a good deed besides being a geek. :D

I was requested by my base to play Jedi along side Daniel Logan (baby Boba as I call him :)) and C. Andrew Nelson (Darth Vader) at a Clone Wars and toy promotion held on August 16th at Travis Air Force Base in Vacaville, California. This event was not only to promote the Clone Wars release, but also to share the Star Wars legacy with children whose parents are serving in the military. Words can't express the fun and joy we had sharing with the fans about the Star Wars legacy, baby Boba and Darth Vader. :D Instead, I'd rather let the pictures tell the story to you. After all, don't pictures tell a thousand words?!?!?!?! ;)

Without further ado, I give you fun in the sun with Daniel Logan, C. Andrew Nelson and friends. Remember, it's my birthday, so play nice and wish me a happy birthday (no self promotion going on here)...:^O

Looky-looky, a Sith, a fangirl and two Jedi...What a bunch of POSERS. :^O

Posing with baby Boba, C. Andrew Nelson, R2 and fans. :)

Watch out, Daniel has stolen R2 and plays with the crowd.

A Jedi must keep a watchful eye on these two.

Peek-a-boo...I see you taking that picture. :^O

Baby Boba needed a break to play video games...Be careful, one never knows when a Jedi will sneak up behind you and goof off...LMAO

Daniel discovers a Sith lightsaber...And keeps a watchful eye on a Jedi practicing saber technique. :D

Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the Daniel Logan event. I am your Jedi guide for this event...LOL :^O

A light side Jedi and a dark side Jedi being asked for their autographs...SQUEEEEEE WEEEEEEEEEE. :^O

A Jedi taking down a Sith Lord...

Lots of toysssssss...And we were rewarded with a toy of our choice for working the event. :)

The finale...An autographed group photo. :)

So, Star Wars is alive and well and thriving. You just have to take that first step into a larger world beyond hyperspace in a galaxy far, far away. ;)

A BIG thank you to Daniel Logan, C. Andrew Nelson and Charlie from CJ Toys for letting us play along side them and for giving me the best Star Wars birthday EVER! :D

P.S. - NOBBYCON 2008 blog coming to hyperspace near you. I have a promise to keep with an old friend. ;)
