A Day in the Life of the Laid Off
Let me start off by saying that I am currently unemployed. Technically, I'm laid off. I'm due to go back to my job next month... unless I get my dream job in the meantime... Till then, I'm just being a bum... which has it's benefits. I get to spend a nice, stress free summer (well, stress free if I don't think about money!) relaxing and doing what I want, when I want. Needless to say, I've seen a Star Wars movie or two (or six... or more, counting the Clone Wars) since I've been off. I've been nothing if not productive! :p

Today, my friend Sue came over and spent the afternoon watching a movie with me. We had no idea what we were going to watch in advance, and I told her it was up to her. Without any prompting from me (well, without any obvious prompting!) she picked Return of the Jedi, the very movie I wanted to watch! To say I was pleased would be an understatement! I had given her many choices, after all... and no, not just choices of SW movies.

She never once picked up on the oh-so-subtle Force nudges I was sending her way... she thought it was all her idea! Imagine! It was nice to see that the time I have spent honing this skill over my weeks of joblessness has paid off....
