(Note: Okay, because the folks at Star Wars.com only allow 1,000 characters for the Blog intro paragraph, and because I'm that guy that always starts a project without reading the directions first -- I overwrote and ended up with too long a description for my blog. So, here it is in it's entirety for your enjoyment. My first blog. Hey, am I the first one here? Do I win a prize? Come on George. Pablo? I think that this deserves something.)
Welcome to
Jedi Swank's Wide World of Star Wars. Yes, I realize it's not the most original title, but it's the best I could come up with for now. And it's not without
some thought to it. When I talk and write about the Star Wars Universe, I tend to take it pretty seriously. Say, no less so than a couple of guys getting hammered and damn near killing each other over who
should have won the game last week. In my world, it sounds more like "Darth Maul could have totally kicked Obi-Wan's A&%!"). Come to think of it, I probably sound more like my wife and her best friend talking about
Grey's Anatomy. Example: "Do you think Anakin really loved Padme, or was he just so heartbroken over losing his Mother at such an impressionable age that he transferred those feelings onto her?"
Don't get me wrong, I'm not one of those holier than thou Star Wars geeks sitting around Mom's basement wearing Dad's old bathrobe, pretending that I'm the only one that really *gets* Star Wars and all these other "fans" just think they do. Nope. Not me. I suffer no such delusions of grandeur. I'm just a married, twenty-something, Star Wars geek that escapes his hum-drum life by occasionally escaping to that far, far away galaxy and it's tales from long ago.
So, stop by once in a while and read my thoughts on the Wide World of Star Wars. Or, as I call it -- what I'm
really doing at work all day.
