Anakin, Ahsoka, and Parenting
So after thinking about this whole new Anakin has a padawan dynamic, I was thinking.

Are we going to get to see Anakin in an almost father role?

I know a lot of people, like friends of mine, dislike Anakin as a character. Dave Filoni said we are going to get to see the good side of Anakin in the film/show, which I estatic about.

So what do you think about this?
I am honestly looking forward to see Anakin as a friend/brother. I am also hoping we will get to see Anakin and Padme in their relationship minus that craptacular dialouge. It would be nice to see them just together before the crap hit the fan.

What are all of your views on this? Anyone agree, disagree, think I'm reading into this too much?

Anakin isn't anywhere close to being ready for a padawan. He's got enough stress already being The Chosen One and trying to figure out what all that is supposed to mean. Plus the Council should know that he's reckless and angry, etc., and that he probably wouldn't be the best influence on a padawan. They also should know that he feels responsible for the safety of those around him. What happens when Ahsoka gets hurt or lost or killed? He would feel guilty. Maybe the Council thought that he would learn something from Ahsoka? No clue. I'm really looking forward to seeing how all this is going to work.

It will be interesting to see how they interact though.

Like me.... I thought he ought to be either more heroic or more evil.... at least more mature....

As I stated on another blog, Anakin with a Padawan is like a 12 year-old having a baby....

Yes! Don't let my hero boy sound like a babbling idiot, please!!!!!!

It might improve my opinion of him.... Let him be the hero instead of Padme having to act like his mother....

I love the character of Anakin...and I do realize that I'm somewhat in the minority. There's GRANNY...who doesn't like him...hehehehehehehe...

I'm keeping an open mind about Ahsoka. I so want this film and TV series to flourish...for a lot of reasons...but the thought of Anakin with a padawan perplexes me!

You know what? I haven't written a blog entry in a while. I think I'll do that. :D

I was stunned when I first heard that Anakin was going to have a padawan, It had never been mentioned anywhere as far as I know, none of the EU books or the comics or anywhere.

Plus the Council should know that he's reckless and angry, etc., and that he probably wouldn't be the best influence on a padawan

Um, haven't we established that the council isn't always on top of things? The list of their screw ups I'm sure would take me well out of my allotted 750 characters.

I'm really looking forward to seeing how all this is going to work.

Same here.

I would love to see Anakin in a parental/big brother role. I would also be very curious about his apprentice. I wonder if this child is like him, if he came into the Jedi fold at an older age, perhaps not as old of Anakin, but maybe at three- or four-years-old.

Is the character going to be male, female, human, alien? I have no idea.

It would have been more interesting to me if this movie could have been released in 2003, prior to Episode III. That would have helped it fill in the gaps all that much more. I hope it will have more substance than the original "Clone Wars" cartoon, because I didn't think there was much too that.

Yeah, I agree. No offense to George or Hayden, but Anakin seems really childish in the movies. I hope that he'll be portrayed as a more responsible young man in the new series.

My only issue with the apprentice is the absence of her existence in the later films and novels. So much of the Jedi order is centered around training an apprentice it seems odd its never mentioned. I am being patient and waiting to see how its handled - the way I see it my concern is very obvious - so they must have worked it out somehow.

I really like Anakin as a character. The way they portrayed him in the books was outstanding. Ever noticed how Anakin changes people around him? He changed Obi-Wan to be more less-serious, and even had him making jokes. In my opinion, Anakin affects people around him in a huge way, good or bad i cannot say.

BTW, i always wondered why we never saw Ahsoka in the movies. . . I wonder did Darth Vader killed her on Coruscant, during the Great Jedi Purge, or was she somewhere else and got killed by Order 66. Or did she live through the whole thing. . .?
