 | Collecting for money or love? |
I collect things (not just Star Wars stuff) because I like it. I enjoy collecting it. I do not collect things as investments. Just last night I was at Wal-Mart buying the Vader Evolution 3 pack (which I think was a little overprice $20?). While I was in line checking out the guy behind me asked, "Do you collect that stuff?" after saying yes he said, "I have all this old Star Wars stuff. You think its worth a lot?" I get this question all to often from random people. I normally ask them what, it is what condition its in, and when it was made but 99% of the time they say something like "its like some figures and stuff in a box in the garage/basement/attic. I'm not sure when it was made I just know its old." Now how am I supposed to answer? I've explained to a few people how if its not in great condition it's probably not worth much. I can tell that's not really what they want to hear. People think just because they have a few action figures from The Empire Strikes Back that they are going to be able to sell them for a lot of money.
Please tell me this happens to everyone...
