I would like to see another Star Wars Celebration for the 30th Anniversary of The Empire Strikes Back. I heard a few representatives of Lucasfilm have said they can't have one every year. I was hoping to celebrate the 25th Anniversary of Return of the Jedi in 2008 and the 10th anniversary of The Phantom Menace in 2009 but I guess that eliminates the possiblity of doing that. I do hope they move the Celebration to a more central location like Indianapolis, IN, Louisville, KY, Cincinnati, OH, St. Louis, MO, Chicago, IL, Nashville, TN, Columbus, OH, Dayton, OH, Pittsburgh, PA, Detriot, MI, Denver, CO, or maybe Milwakue. I think it more fair from a geographic standpoint to choose one of those cities. I prefer Indy due to it being a mile northwest of me. I only have to drive one hour by vehicle. The Indiana Convention Center is being expanded starting in January, 2008. It will be done by January, 2010. They are adding a Convention Center Hotel Complex that includes 4 Marriott hotels combined together for a total of over 1,500 rooms. The hotel is going to attached to the convention by skywalk. The new Lucas Oil Stadium which has 150,000 sq. ft. of exhibit space will open in August, 2008 and will be attached to the convention center by underground tunnel. The Indiana Convention Center will have a total of 1.2 million sq. ft. with a 40,000 sq. ft. ballroom in the hotel next to it. There are preliminary plans to include a indoor waterpark in the hotel. That would give Star Wars fans something else to do. The convention center is already connected to several well known hotels and the Circle Center Mall. There are several parking garages around the hotel and mall. This is first of many articles discussing Celebrations coming up and reasons for having it back in Indy! Hope to hear more ideas from fans!
