Irritation.

What is up with Galaxies????

I'm browsing the message boards, looking at the topics that are centered on this new expansion - another expansion that seams to mostly be for Jedi - as most of the message board community also thinks.

In one thread, they are talking about a rumored power struggle between SOE and LA - LA wanting to take control of the game away from SOE. Now there is an argument that LA are the ones that are pulling the strings - makes sense. But it's also implying that it was also LA that is most responsible for the destroying of the timeline.

That got me to wondering - why would LA do that, when they have other games that have no Jedi focus in them?

And that also got me thinking on something else. Now, I would think it would be really obvious that people would love to play as Jedi (like there aren't enough games where you can. Look at what they're doing to Battlefront II).

So my question is - instead of placing the timeline of Galaxies after Episode IV, why didn't they just do either some KotoR timeline or do the timeline during the Clone Wars? That would leave the way for the presence of so many Jedi (which, in this supposed "time period" - they should be next to extinct).

I mean, 'Galaxies' is just really annoying to play because of the screwed up timeline. Yea, you can still make the game fun for yourself - but the original allure to playing the game has long since been gone (not to mention RP'ing is just.... Yea not gonna go there with that one).

And another Jedi expansion in Episode III format. Great.

- there shouldn't be Jedi. Period.

- You shouldn't be able to use most anything from Episode III - most all ships and vehicles - thoes should be out of use. Or at least have some outdated look to it if it is used. If present, they should be a rare commodity.(which, in Galaxies - wouldn't stay rare for too long anyway, so I guess the 'rare commodity' is a mute point).

Planets, well, I can see the addition of planets.




I stay around because I am too optimistic. And since I'm not into the whole 'X-box live' sort of thing - it is the only game I have where I play with other 'live' people.


At least. For compensation. Give one, just one, server, where Jedi aren't allowed. At the end of the day I would be a little happier, and more willing to log on more often.

In the end, I don't care who is running 'Galaxies' - I don't care go to look into what's going down legally - (whether this 'battle is real or not) as long as things stop being rushed, and care is put into what is being done with the game. If REAL attention can be given to the game. That's really what it seams to need.


I would completely be in vote to just trash 'Galaxies' all together and start anew. But that is for sure not going to happen, for reasons I'm sure I can't even think of.
