Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?
Hey fellow Star Wars fans! Tonight I will be blogging not about Star Wars, but about another Sci-Fi movie.

The name of this movie is Blade Runner, while the name of the novel it's based off of is Do Androids Dream Of Electric Sheep?, hence the name of this blog. I, along with my Mom, am a huge fan of the movie, and it has our favorite scoundrel in it to boot! :D

Harrison Ford plays Deckard, the main character in the movie, who finds and "retires" androids, who have basically gone rogue due to humanity shunning them. Now, I haven't seen the movie in awhile, so my memory might be a bit sketchy, but that is the premise of the movie.

So, I'm curious, how many people out there are fans of the movie?

That concludes my blog. I picked the above picture because Harrison Ford looks very Deckard-ish in that picture. :D

I love this movie :D

not only does it star Harrison Ford, but it's directed by a local boy ( local to me anyway ), and the view over 'hell' is inspired by the view over our local industial plants.
I got the 5 disc set for xmas and have managed to plough through the documentaries as well.

Good to know there are others that love this movie too.

This is a movie I've been meaning to check out for years. Glad to hear you like it--the more I hear that, the more I'm compelled to see it soon.

I've always wanted to see Blade Runner. It's a Harrison Ford sci-fi film, right up my alley, but even though we own it, worries of boredom and simple laziness have prevented me from seeing it.

But the thing is, I didn't know until recently that it was based on "Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?" a book that I read and thoroughly enjoyed.

So now I HAVE to watch it. I'll watch it next time I go go home, which by my calculations, is tomorrow. :)

I watched it on Blu-ray a few days ago. It wasn't very appealing to me. Maybe the fact that it never stops raining. Plus the fact I cant understand half of the people in the beginning.

Hi Zach,

the speech at the beginning is called 'cityspeak'. I agree that it's not to everyone taste as it moves at quite a slow pace, but it's worth checking out just for the visuals.

NB In one of the city shots they use a production model of the Millenium Falcon stood on it's end as a building.

I've only seen one version of it. :D Ridley Scott could teach GL a thing or two about alternate cuts!
